Have 3 in the garage right now. 1 is in the SBK motor, one in the Repsol stock motor and a third in a box. I get them slightly used from my world superbike contacts. They run them for a couple of races and then replace them. This is just my opinion but once you get one and experience the back torque limiting it does, you usually won't ride a bike without one. It's even argued that they would really help in the street, especially if you click down one too many gears and get the wheel hop going.

The STM is a little on the high dollar side of things, but Yoyodyne makes one that is about $300-$400 cheaper yet works really well. I think the STM is about $1100-$1200, the Yoyodyne is about $800. The main attraction to STM is the adjustability, but if you're going to do track days and street only, the yoyodyne would be just fine. Only in full race situations would you like the complete adjustability STM offers. If I wasn't getting them super cheap, I would most likely end up with a Yoyodyne. www.yoyodyneti.com
