I am working on 2 different avenues. One is a stainless type and the other is Ti with a stainless connector. I am pushing to get the price under $500 for a half system that starts where the 2 cats start now. I would love to try to get an existing system to fit, like the R6 system, if this doesn't work. I am sick of all the heat and weight up high. Dan

I am getting ready to modify a 05' gsxr1000 hotbodies megaphone tip to fit. And then I will be selling my euroundertail and jardine pipe setup.

I don't know about everyone else, but I need many, many more details.
Are you a dealer? Is this a home-fabricated unit mocked up in someone's garage or a system from a reputable name, like Sato, Akro, etc?
I'm considering exhaust, and would even consider something "different", but it would have to come from a reputable source, with warranties - I need to feel all warm and fuzzy about the purchase. Don't want to buy it, cross my fingers and hope my money was well spent.

The 1 reason I would not buy an 08 CBR 1000rr is the exhaust.....:puke:...just my opinion though....different strokes for different folks...

Well, I am building mine because i hate the heat and clutter that the undertail provides. granted... the gp style is not for everyone,But when I drop 5 pounds of pipe and fiberglass undertail i think it will be pretty sweet. plus i will ceramic coat mine all black so you wont really see it when its all together.:D

Whyt would someone go through that much effort to clean up the rear of the bike and leave the stock master cylinder back there, out in the open like that? :confused2:

Let me be the first to say it. When the 916 came out, everyone had to have the undertail. Now that we have the undertail, everyone wants the short stubby exhaust. Personally, I love the undertail and it doesn't get any cleaner look wise than that. I would love to see what you come up with because it may change mind, but I do love the undertail.

I love the undertail but prefer a dual like Yamaha and Ducati. The '08 exhaust is nothing like that picture and nothing like what is currently out right now. I don't want to give it away as they asked. I thought of the GP exhaust but I would think my right leg would get too hot and isn't the bike more balaneced with the exhaust undertail. I think they may have solved the heat issue with the '08 but again i'm probably saying more then they want me to.

It would be interesting to see what you come up with, and how it performs on the dyno which is most important to me.
I'll look for another maker who I know and trust to have impeccable engineering and pipe tuning skills to build a side exhaust replacement for my '08 when it arrives, but I am going to stick with the undertail for my '05.

Now that the 08 has one? Thats one of the more hideous parts of the 08.
Lets see, he has a whopping 11 posts (Most of which are just to sell crap), NO pictures, NO details, NOTHING at all. Looking for 25 FIRM orders to make it happen? Make what happen? Give you enough money to have someone at a exhaust shop fabricate something then repro 24 more to make a quick profit? There are no pictures because there are none yet. He will fabricate something after he gets your money. He won't even make ONE until he knows he can make some quick cash with his idea.
Some of you know that ALOT goes into the development of exhausts. Too much or too little back pressure can kill your performance. Why would any of you even consider buying some off the wall no name untested side mount? Even if this guy showed you a dyno sheet how would you even know it was legit? Not to mention without a PCIII and the proper MAP it wouldnt be any benefiet (plus WHERE would you get a MAP for this thing?).
His offer redlines my BULLSH!T meter. This clown reminds me of Toptaz (check his IP, it just might BE Toptaz). I hope no one here is actually STUPID enough to buy into this SH!T.

Sorry i been out of town. It has a baffle in it or i wouldnt run it. they need a little back pressure. When i get done i will get it on the dyno here in town and we will see. I am looking for a custom look as well as a little performance. As long as it runs as good as my slip on Jardine thats great.

I am speaking with SUDCO. Maybe you have heard of them. Go to sudco.com. The exhaust would be a Hamaguchi, made in Japan. I have no plan to sell the item or to get deposits from anyone. I was hoping this group would be reasonable one to form a group buy from SUDCO, not from me. A little Japanese wisdom, ask questions first, shoot later.

I agree. The Hamaguchi endcan I have seen is absolutely gorgeous. The CBR600RR and 1000RR specific endcap is true quality.

The SUDCO pipes i have seen have a smooth look to them. nice fit and finish too. But out of my price range, and i like to do my own custom thing. Not much for the "Cookie Cutter" custom stuff if I can help it. some stuff ya just cant help but I want to tackle this myself and see what happens.:)

This is a pretty small forum - trying to get 25 firm orders from this site alone will be difficult, if not impossible. Hopefully you're gauging interest from other forums to be combined with interest from this one.
Your advice is sound - I didn't shoot yet, but I definitely loaded the gun. My post was simply meant to try and get more information. Your original post couldn't have been more vague, especially when attempting to drum up interest for a potentially large investment.

Yes, I am gauging interest from other forums. I was deliberately vague because I wanted to see if there were a variety of wishes people had such as make it cheap or make it light. The feedback appears to be that no one seems to be waiting for the sidemount. As the gentleman doing the R6 exhaust conversion and I seem to be the only ones who cannot take the high up weight and heat any more, I guess we will have to make our own. By the way, Mean Machine, what pipe are you running? What does your dyno sheet look like?
TX Repsol
September 25th, 2007, 10:05 PM
My wishes would be:
make it high quality
make it reliable
make it cheap
make it light
make it invisible, or good looking if it's visible
make it effective (makes lots of horsepower!!)
make it quiet - I'm probably the oddball here, but I would love a pipe that retains the "stealthy" stock sound and still makes power. If it makes noise, it better sound good. Don't want some obnoxiously loud ass pipe that sounds like I ripped the baffles out of a stock can.
Of course, there's no way to achieve all of those in one pipe. But it would have to meet a few of those requirements for my consideration.
