Testing the stator

Is there an easy way to see if my stator is good or fried?
Had a battery go bad and replaced it --- want to see if it was really the stator problem everyone is talking about........
I know I can take the bike to the dealer and have them test it --- was trying to see if there was any easy way to do it at home......
I don't want to go on a ride and be 50 miles from home; stop to eat and go to fire up the repsol & it is dead --- the battery --- from the charging system failing.

Check out the downloads section, I have a fault finding document there that will help you find the true problem. I've used it many times when dealing with the 900's poor charging system. :(
