Hello Fellow Repsolers...

I am testing the waters to see how many of you would actually show up for a Monday October 29 trackday at Buttonwillow Raceway, put on by one of the Laguna Repsol girls...Stacy... www.letsridetrackdays.com (http://www.letsridetrackdays.com)

The day is already scheduled as a standard trackday, but I thought I would ask how many of you want to put a Repsol face on the event...

Buttonwillow is a fun and challenging track, and I'm going to be there as a birthday present to myself.

Only reply if you really can make it, but if I get enough of you to do it, we could all get a little group discount, but it's already very affordable at $135.

Let me know by October 14, and I'll speak with Stacy about a discount based on how many of you can do it.

Cheers,
RR

For everybody's benefit...there are lots of slots available in C, B & A Groups, but C will fill up first.

For those that have never done a trackday...go into the C Group, and if you are deemed safe and fast enough for the B Group, then you can be moved up during the day.

I've done quite a few trackdays, and I will be in the B Group, but will offer guidance in the C Group for those who desire it.

A Group is really for experienced track riders who can keep a near race pace...so please use intelligence when deciding which group to start out in. Just because you think you are Nicky Hayden, it doesn't mean that you are...and fast road riding does not necessarily translate to the track.

With only 35 riders per group, there is plenty of track for everyone to share and avoid traffic. Last week's AFM races at Sears Point had fields of 60 riders of all skills and that can be dangerous, but trackdays are for skill improvement, not racing, so bring your attitude of safety and fun with you.

I hope to see some of you there...RR

Nobody is going to make this? C'mon guys...we need some participation in the real world in addition to your hangin' out online...

Buttonwillow is a 4 1/2 hour drive for me, would be about 5 1/2 from Sacramento, about 2 1/2 from LA...the rooms are dirt cheap down there, the track day is very inexpensive, and what a great excuse to have a sick day.

Let's rally up Repsol guys...let's ride! FAST!

If not for yourself, then do it for me...it's my birthday...

Oh yeah...and I forgot to mention that Bekah, another of the Repsol girls from Laguna is going to be there riding...

Robert,
Stacy's site list all the requirements needed for the trackday?
Clothing, Bike prep, etc.?

Yep...it's all there...and her bike requirements are less stringent than many...you can leave your radiator fluid in...some simple taping/disconnecting of lights. removal of mirrors and you're pretty much good to go.

Either one piece or 2 piece zip together on the leathers and riding boots that go above the ankles. They even have leathers for rent.

Are you pondering going?

Im seriously considering it.
It would be my first time on the track...so I would have to be in the "D" group with Ignacio:p

What hotel/motels are in the area?

There is a Motel 6, a Red Roof and a couple of others...all cheap...and a little south of the track on I5 at the Bakersfield/58 Junction. I'll post up a link when I get a chance.

Maybe you could take advantage of Crazy's offer above...free instructors and a $120 price.

I will look into that...it appears that Crazy lives up to his name with this Crazy deal.
Hopefully they do suspension work....Ive havent gotten my bike adjusted to MY weight.
I guessing there would be a big difference from the stock setting that Im using now.

Anybody is welcome...this is a trackday for all bikes, not just Repsols...I'm just tryin' to some of us together at the track.

There is no entry fee for spectators on a weekday, so if they are there just to watch...that's also fine.

Thanks i'm on socal, just didn't notice the link and my net is down at home so i'm a bit slow checking it out. She does have a few peewee spots set aside for us but I do not have a full suit. I went to the discount site to get matching tocket pants to zip them together but it was sold. I can't do pants and track fee right now. They have some suits for rent $80/day but no boots. so dont think i'll be able to make this one.

There were only 2 Repsols at the event and we got to ride together for 1 session... overall a pretty nice day until the very end when the wind came up and everybody packed it in...a few large raindrops in the afternoon didn't affect traction...so I rode the session...

I loved the way the Dunlop GP209s performed, and I may be sticking with those for a while...but I will try the Michelins one day as I remember riding Michelins 25 years ago (M45 as I recall) and it was a good tire.

My pics are watermarked because I didn't see any that were purchase worthy this trip, but it gives you a sense of the fun that I had...

Looking at going to California Speedway in a couple of weeks where I will see 150-160 on the front tri-oval section...very fast track.
