I recently got a HJC carbon fiber helmet. The difference in weight is huge compared to my Shoei. I love it! Comfortable light, good looking, well vented.
Nice stuff.

They are pretty light allthough Shark is lightest (by like 3OZ). I only tried it in the store but it seamed like it may be noisy. Shoei is heavier but very quiet.

I prefer Shoei. They just need to make a Repsol Edition one. HJCs always felt to big on me and they are nosiy IMO.

I bought a KBC helmet yesterday (the left thumbnail) and already took it back to cycle gear. That thing was stupid loud above 35mph. It looked pretty sharp and vented well but LOUD and wistled if your head was at the wrong angle to the wind. I took it back and got another cheaper KBC that is quieter although lower quality and will get a new Shoie x-11 Byrne in two weeks. I think the Orange in the Byrne goes pretty well with the repsol - and it's got that hawaii theme that shakey rode with for a bit. KBC is just a short trip helmet for me.

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

For the first time in my life, I buy a unique helmet that no one else has... guess we'll be two of a kind now.

See post # 2.

EDIT: Have you ordered or located a Byrne? When I bought mine, they (Cycle Gear) had to ship it from a store in Kentucky (I think) because it was one of the last two they had in stock. I figured that was a good thing - means there will be less chances of running into someone else with the same lid.

No haven't laid eyes on it yet, it's in stock online at their internet store. They said they will order it in for me when I give them the $$.

why does my picture of it appear to have orange lines instead of red like yours? were there two versions?

Yep I passed on that helmet. Nice look but didn't care for the fit.

The lines around the graphics aren't quite red, but they are a much, much deeper orange than the stock image makes them out to be.

I do not believe there were two versions - that's the exact same stock image I saw when I ordered mine.

I have the HJC AC-12 and I love it. I don't think its loud at all and I like the fit better than some of the Shoei's.
