Any drop in price? :confused2:
I think a serious buyer for this excellent 2005 with Nicky sig should make an offer...don't expect an automatic price drop, but I can tell you that reasonable offers will be seriously considered.
Cheers...RR

I just got word that I will have the money but not for another 5 weeks. If the bike is still around by then, it will be a sign from above that I am allowed to have another repsol.
I found one here in oceanside. It is an 05 and has 15,000 miles, arrow exhaust, power commander, ohlins front and rear suspension, and a few other things. The sales guy said that it was a track bike and it has a $3500 front end on it and blah blah blah, he wants $12,000 before tax, title and tag.
Also, it has black rims. I know rims can be changed and all so that is not a problem, I just want to know if the 05's came with black rims or is this an imposter repsol? I thought they all came with orange rims. The sales guy said that the rims were stock.

Run away from that bike...no Repsol came stock with black rims...even with $3500 in work, the bike isn't worth that with that many miles.
The VIN number on a Repsol is special...with the series having a number like this... ending in M100489...telling you it is a Repsol and #489 in production. The only Repsols I've seen with black wheels are carbon fiber aftermarket...on jquick's bike...or on a Poser Repsol with the bodywork.
Buyer beware...RR

Buyer beware...RRI agree, sounds like it's not a true Repsol edition, and for 12,000 for an '05, it better damn well be an original. I would definitely not pay that much for a bike that has been pounded on the track.
"before tax, title and tag", WTF. It's a used bike, way are you paying that?

Even if it was brand new there is 2 years depreciation! Hell i paid $11,100 brand new in 05'. So that deal is a total cluster f#$k! Sorry but I am getting pretty damn angry at these dealers that are trying to move old merchandise by installing Repsol plastics and marketing them as the real deal!! Isnt there some legal action that can be taken? That is fraud! if nothing else the B.B.B should hear about it and investigate.

Our friend is the North American Marketing Director for Repsol...I know him well and this bike has been pampered...and never flogged.
Unless somebody jumps in front of you, 5 weeks may be long enough...he's not desparate...just hates to see it not being ridden...only been out once or twice this year...the first time to the MotoGP at Laguna.

There was an '05 in Texas last month with 200miles on her for $10.5k. It said the old guy broght it home in his truck when he bought it. Supposedly only putted it up and down the block on sundays.
Mine had 600miles on it (paid alot less then the one above) and I verified it was a true Repsol edition through Honda USA. Sorry I can't find the # anymore. I did have to pay shipping from Kansas and work around the CA laws.
If it was a track bike then chances are slim that the owner went through insurance if and when it was laid down. The goodies are nice but you can't add full value to them as they are used as well. Also, the bike has to have shocks and wheels so at most they could add the difference then subtract for depreciation from use.

I think I would pay that for a ultra low mileage 05. Might be cool to have 1 for both years. Might be a tad high, but to me, it's worth it for the mileage factor.

Okay, I just got a call from Ignacio, and he said he has a great offer for anyone interested in his bike. He''s going to be out for a while and would like to get the bike sold before he leaves.
If you are SERIOUSLY interested in this bike, please send my your info so Ignacio can contact you directly. I see that a few members have mentioned they may be interested, so I thought I post up here to give everyone an opportunity.
Remember, this is a low mileage bike that has been very well maintained. It has sat with some of the greats and has even be signed by Nicky himself. Still has the stock sticker kit that goes with it.
Again, the bike is located in San Jose which can be picked up or shipped anywhere.
I don't know what deal Ignacio has in mind, but he told me that it will make the potential buyer very happy. :)

I had another question that may sound kind of stupid, but here goes. Is there some sealant or clear protective covering that could be put over the signature so while riding in the sun/rain it kept it from wearing off??:confused2::confused:
I would hate to ride it with saran wrap on the tank. DEE,DUH,DEEEEEEE!!!! :loser:
