I'm considering this for my '05... anybody know if this is a great deal?

He will put the 1.0 springs in for my fat ass... and I totally trust the seller...just don't know enough about suspension costs to know how this compares to new.

For Sale:

2004-2007 CBR1000RR Forks with Ohlins 25mm Cartridges. These are the forks I used on my 2004 CBR Superbike. Custom Valving, just serviced.

$1100 shipped!

Thanks...RR

Yikes these are used right? TOO high I am pretty sure , why not just change the springs in your stock fork tubes? You could also revalve. Ask the speed doctor for sure he is OHLINS authorized installer. This was a quote I got for my 05 >>>>>>>>>>>>

FRONT FORKS:
As I suspected they are to soft for your weight and type of riding so here there are the possibilities.
Set of 2 springs from OHLINS $122 from race tech $109
Set of 2 valves from OHLINS $335 from race tech $169
Fluid for both forks $22
Seals and wipers for both forks $50
Labor forks + installation
and adjustment whit rider $180 +65
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TOTAL $774 (Race Tech) $595
-10% your price $696.60 $535.50

REAR SHOCK:
The rear shcok comes very close to your weight and type of riding.
So what I recommend is changing the spring to match exactly to you and servicing the shock, meaning changing the oil and nitrogen gas.
The internal valve can be changed if you choose to do so for a Race Tech valve that is high performance and it will improve the hidraulid dampening of your shock , however the original unit is pretty good an it is already set up for your weight so I leave that up to you . Her are the prices:

Rear Spring from OHLINS $98.95 from Race Tech $ 109
(this one I need to measure
yours to see if it fits)
Fluid and Nitrogen $18.00
Labor shcock +installation
and adjustment with rider. $160 +125

TOTAL $ 401.95 $412
-10% your price $ 361.75 $370.80

If you choose to add the valve add $169 -10% = $152.10 plus $40 in labor.

No, Way too high. You can purchase Race-tech for less than half of that and it would be new.:)

ROBERT...IT IS BETTER TO GO WITH NEW...EVERYTHING.....those used ones...they sound very high in price.

in my opinion...i would never buy used, especially for suspension if you run hard on your bike.

Thanks all...

Good info...this guy is one of our local hot shoe racers...and his stuff always sells pretty fast because he is fast and racers want his stuff.

I can see how if I wanted a spare set of forks for just the track it might be worthwhile at a better price but I know I can get this done using my tubes for a lot cheaper now...

Guys, the ones for sale have the 25mm cartridges in them. Not high at all. They are pretty much the full ohlins front end without the outside gold tubes. You can get a new cartridge kit for around $1300 and then have to pay someone to put it in. The stuff Hondapowered was quoted keeps the stock cartridge so of course it will be a lot cheaper. Plus those are Ken Hill's, anything from him is in very good shape and taken care of.

Woops sorry RR did not look at the full specs in regards to 25mm , that is more like full on race gear hungh? :dontknow: I just wanted to input on how to modify the forks to be more ridgid but ya I looked at some of the ohlins products and they were 2500 to 4K

Thanks for the correction big DIELL glad you are on our happy forum!!! RR may have missed out on something or thought someone was taking advantage :+1:

Like I said, I trust Ken Hill, and his stuff is highly demanded and regarded, but it's probably overkill for my trackday needs...and since I'm into the bling effect too, I'd want the pretty gold tubes to match the gold accents on my bike.

The reality is I'm seriously considering getting an '08 1000 and making it a track bike, and would do all the suspension work to that one. Either that or I'd convert my Repsol to a track bike and primarily street the black... tough decision there.

I've got a black one on hold...:D

I will have to agree with RR, I have been meaning to ask you for sometime now about your Repsol Wing, I assume you did all the work yourself as you seem very knowledgeable on bikes in your posts here, especially when it comes to engine rebuilds, I have enjoyed reading your posts(although some of it is over my :shortbus: head) that was one of the first avatars my wife and I seen joining this forum, we love it(it is different). A bike like that at "Tail of the Dragon" Would demand attention from everyone.:D

I'm sorry guys but that's not mine at all. I took that picture in the UK, after a BSB round. That dude was awesome too, friendly and very proud of his Repsol. He did all the work himself. This was in 04, so he was way ahead off everyone else.

Thanks for the compliments though.

Yeah, in Europe, you will see all kinds of Repsol "replicas", scooters, KTMs, Gold Wings...you name it...they aren't as snooty about their Repsol love in Europe...:D

I think I remember you telling me that once before Diel... I'm gettin' old and the memory is the first thing to go.

Cheers...RR

:deadhorse: I get it now, all Repsol "replica's" are "Divine" no matter what shape, size or anything else, they are all loved as much as we love ours. All REPSOL's are the same the world over, if it say's Repsol on it that is all that matters.

Wait, I don't live in Europe.....

I am sorry I did not get that in the other thread.....oh, well You know me..... Shortbus here

Mission Accomplished...:evilgrin::evilgrin::evilgrin::evilgrin::evilgrin:

Speaking of Gold Wings, we have a guy out here that absolutely rails on his Wing...many sportbike riders cannot keep up with him in the twisties...he likes to give them a head start and then catch them and pass...hangin' off and draggin' floorboards...hoping to run into them down the road so he can see their faces...funny stuff.

I've run with him on the track, and on his 750 track bike he absolutely annihilates me... unless I get a run on him coming out of a corner where my 1000 eats his lunch on the straights. He would definitely make the hall of fame on your dragon out there.

I certainly believe you, I had a similiar experience last weekend, a 600 rr was keeping pretty close tabs on me on the last run down the dragon, only in the very short few straights could I get any distance on him.
