hey peoples...
well here it goes...
on 1 of our local bike forums there has jsut been a thread about "doing a runner" & how approx 80% of the people that have spoken in the thread think people who do a runer from the popo are such damn legends...
well last night there was a high speed pursuit in which a 17yr old girl was killed doing a runner... well turns out 1 of these people knew this girl...
now .. to me.. & i dont know how you people feel...
but if you do a runner.... you are a damn idiot... sure.. a lot of us have prob nailed it & got away before.. but .. hell these things can go wrong... & if it does.. well you must accept these risks b4 you atemt it
to these people.. now the cops are the biggest mongrels out there & police chases shouldn be allowed...
but.. in reality.. if the law was police chases werent allowed.. we would all gun it & get away if we knew they couldnt chase
i say.. do the crime.. accept the consequences of what could happen... people who die trying to run from the law just had the worst scenario happen... so bloody what... they shouldnt have run in the 1st place

Just in case some of you forgot I'm a Police Sergeant and I will not let my guys chase a bike. Unless the Helios close by the the chopper can take over, I dont want anyone to die just for some stupid infraction or misdemeanor. Now a felony were someone has been hurt or worse is different but those are very rare in fact I've never had to make a decision on a felony Bike pursuit in my 19 years. Also thank god I've never had a pursuit go bad on one of my shifts. NO I will not tell you what city I work in, right now Im off cause of a fight, twisted up my knee a little.

thrash mate.. the chase last ngiht was in a car.. not on a bike
however the point i am tryin to make.. is these guys think they are heroes cause they can outrun the cops when they are on their bikes.
what happened to the days of pulling over & taking it like a man?
ffs... you do the crime.. you do the time in my book...
& if you are lucky you might just get a kick in the pants fromthe copper (as long as you dont fail the attitude test first)

I gotta agree with you on this one HH. Running from the cops is dumb. Getting out of a ticket
isnt worth losing your life or killing someone else in the process.

ahh but is it a known fact that the mobile taxi's with disco lights wont chase bikes over there? & do you actually get many guys do a runner cause they know they have a good chance of winning the race?
also .. here is anothe question for you....
what % ratio of warnings to infringements do you give & is it 99% based on the attitude test?
ps... how many donut shops in your duristiction?:p

Something tells me Hooner's been drinking... or he just forgot how to spell!
And I agree with you completely on this one. Don't look at my record, 'cause there's an Evading Arrest charge sitting there to say otherwise, but running from the police just ain't worth it.
I was young and dumb once. I at least got over the young part... Lord knows I ran a few times, but soon realized that it's just not worth losing your life or taking someone else's life over a $120 speeding ticket.

When I was a kid my Dad taught to show respect and take your punishment if you have done somthing wrong, On the other hand if your right fight like hell, never give up and always stand up for the guy who cant stand up for himself. Where I grew up if you didnt show respect for the man you would get a severe beating nowdays there are cameras in our cars but I still tell my guys to go by the spirt of the law not the letter of the law thus Respect= Attitude equals have a nice night and be carefull or here let me give you a little gift and oh I guess I'll Impound your car , Pet Kangaroo whatever.:D

yes totally agree....
a friend & myself got picked up some month ago for plling syncronised wheelies hown a country highway in excess of 160kmh...
letter of the law states impound the vehicles & a manditory 6mths loss of licence...
we pulled over & waited for th cop to turn around.. had helmets off licences out etc expecting to recive a big pineapple in the cornhole....
however realising we were not 18 & were just havin a bit of fun he asked "why did you not run" our response.. "we are too old for that **** these days" we were followed up with "GET HOME TO YOUR FAMILIES & SETTLE DOWN YOU 2 BLOODY IDIOTS... have a nice day"
IMHO there is not enough of that good old policing these days.. too many young coppers on a power trip with a mostache & an attitude prob just out to get their killl quota of tickets for the month
ps thrasher... were you 1 of those dudes off that show "CHIPS" ? :p

Sorry I didnt really answer your Question. They dont know who will chase and who wont things are different in the states theres County Sheriffs, City Police, Special district Police, Highway Patrol, and everyone likes to do it their way.

I'm no angel, lots of cops have these toys there great stress relief and we do all the same things anyone else does, my personal rule is to never write a ticket for somthing I myself have done intentionally. And I make sure my guys understand that if they do it themselves they better not write a ticket for it because I'll write em up , that keeps I'm in check.:D

WOA GOOD OLD FASHION RESPECT :confused2: did not know that still existed THRASHER 4 PRESIDENT sorry OBAMA
I am with ya TX I caught a couple of fleeing and eluding charges... once I pulled into my garage just ahead of the boys in blue to lock up my girl and give my keys to the roomate before they hauled me out of there LOL another time I just hit a poorly placed light puddle of mud WOOPS :p Imagine getting handcuffed to your bike while it is on top of you, still running and your arms and legs are road rashed YEP that was enough for me no more running ..... NOW that I am responsible I just pay the tab of the fat cat lawyer who keeps the points off my PERMANENT RECORD
HOON definetly has been drinking I wish there was more respect for your fellow brother like him or not, a good fight at the bus stop was exciting, you grew as a man a little, earned respect and no weapons were involved. Now-adays scared little boys who never grew up only think you need to pull a trigger to be respected??? DUMB A$$HOLES did you see the RAPPER DUDE named TI who had previous felony gun charges and is currently on probation for those charges, well he was arrested for posessing and distributing fully automatic imported ASSAULT RIFLES, what an idiot the guy makes millions every month and now can't make it to the venues to make money????? His record label will have to post like 5 million to get him out for some special controlled house arrest because of flight risk
Soory to RANT on in this RANT but so many people are just measuring the size of thier bravery by the amount of bullets they can spit at you from across the mall parking lot WHAT A DAMN SHAME WHEN THIER IS ACTUALY GUYS OUT THERE LIKE THRASHER TRYING TO BE FAIR AND KEEP US SAFE FROM THOSE F_CK HEADS

ATTENTION MARC: This may seem strange but I think everyone should be allowed to carry a concealed weapon , Yea a few innocents would get hurt but can you imagine how fast the bad guys would be dead, We the generally good far outnumber the evil and if they knew that anyone might be packing they would either get dead or get a real JOB. Once again OFF THE RESERVATION I GO:eek:
