little of some history for this bike......

my wife purchased the bike for me in 97' for valentines. brand spanking new...

i still have the warranty card and the receipts for all the service done on this bike. the manual has all the dates, service done on this bike. i have done all the regular service on schedule....change oil and filter every 1800 miles with motul synt. oil, sinc carburators every 6-7k miles.. last year i put the bike on the dyno...122hp on rear wheel.

i did service on this bike some months ago....new spark plugs, sinc. carbs.
the bike has....k&n airfilter, re-jetted by yoshimura 3 years ago. metzeler M1 tires. suspension (rear) done 8 months ago, front suspension...1 year ago. i have not taken this bike to the track since 2005. the bike still runs very strong.....

i want to make room in my garage for a new 2008 bike....possible a honda. wife says, you got to sell one to make room....i will definetely not sale my repsol...

i wish I had the cash so I could buy it for track days - I am too afraid to take the repsol over there and crash it, it is too good looking to mangle up

maybe after the new year - good price too

very funny jquick.....

for some of you, yes this is the same bike that i got the ticket on few months ago. by the way....i went to traffic school, my record is clean.....

i rode the bike yesterday.....few neighbors came over as soon as i put the sign for sale and went for a short ride. my wife said "still looks very good"....considering few scratches on the tail end. but not bad for 10 years old.

I took the bike out for a ride that day (few months ago) since i did some maintanence to the bike, i wanted to see how it would run. i went to the altamon, i opened it up...after couple of miles down the canyon...i started to slow down...from 120-130 miles....then i noticed a bike cop started to catch up...and pulled me over...he said that if i would've not have slow down, he wouldnt have caught up to me, he gave me a ticket.....he wrote me a ticket for 70 miles on a 55 zone....i did not want to argued since i knew i was going fast....i was honest to the cop.....i would take the ticket like a man...i dont run from cops. he just said .."stay out of trouble" ....and yes i said "thank you officer".......i went to traffic school....so my dmv record is clean. i was lucky that day.

okay, guys....the bike still for sale. my two neighbors competed for the bike....but no cash. one guy offered me $4000 with a personal check with no funds....so i have to roll my bike from his garage to mine with all the stuff.

second neighbor...credit uniond declined the personal loan...he wants to buy it on payments......hhhmmmmm...thinking about it.

i think it is to early in the season for some one to spent $3800 dlrs.

Think about that for a second. The credit union (you know, they loan money for a living) says the guy does not have credit history worthy of a loan.

So why would you trust him enough to let him ride away on your bike?

I wouldn't do it, no matter how well you think you know him. In the end, if he stiffs you, YOU lose, not him. He's got no legal binding document forcing him to pay you. Only his word. In today's society, that's just not enough.

Tell him to make payments to himself and look you up once he's got the money. If you still have it, he buys the bike. If you don't, he's got the cash to buy another one.

you are right !!! ....this is why i rolled the bike back to my garage the next day i found out that the check had no funds....not only that, this is why i said no personal checks......

second...if the second one wants to pay in payments, he wont get the bike till i have all the cash. he agreed to that...but im still hesitating.

ouch !!!!! that is sad to read. that tells that beginners should start with perhaps a scooter than move to a bigger bike.

NO...NO DUCATI FOR ME !!!

there is a 2005 cbr1000rr on one of the dealers close to my house....it has a price tag of $9k......brand new. an additonal $450 bucks for 5 year ext. warranty.

i like my repsol that, i would like to buy another same bike but not the special edition....would like to make a custom paint job on the new bike....for running it around and perhaps the track as well.
