there were a test run done on this bike....the first run was done in Utah's track.....claiming 178hp running stock. after an after market pipe installed, claiming 205 hp.

some dealers have mentioned, that have sold two bikes at a time to some rich people. there is a rumor that 300 bikes will be brought to the USA.

This is what i call limited edition motorcycle.

They have the same over here....the first badge of bikes go to the previous '999R' owners and then some lower-priority people only owning the '999S' get the next one and so on...

Nah...if you really want limitation you need to buy the MV Agusta F4 CC...granted it costs a little bit more...but if you consider a bike for $72K it should not matter anyway....

YES SIR and the CC comes wiht a watch worth 20K full of diamonds.. full race leathers and WOA 200+ rwhp, wiht the full TI system but only like 100 made CC is for
“I decided to put my name to this bike as I originally dreamed of it for myself”. This is how Claudio Castiglioni, the Managing Director referred to the new F4 that now carries his initials “CC”. The boss of MV did what any of us might well have done and gave in to his inner instincts, gave in to the temptation to create a motorbike, not just to meet strategic market needs, but to create something really special, something truly magnificent - just for the sake of it. To create the F4CC project, he obviously utilized everything at his disposal; exclusive materials and the latest technology to attain the utmost in performance 140K and you wont find one unless a private owner will give it up LOL ha not likely

I hate to say as much as I like the MV and carbon fiber...the Ducati is a real race bike...and a better "bargain"...and I could put the left over $40K into an F4-1000 312 and have the best of both worlds...and still have cash left over for a couple years worth of track days and tires.

As much as I love bikes, I think a viper or z06 would come before either of these. My repsol is fast enough and handles well enough, but then again if you have enough money, I am willing to bet that cost would be no object. It would be more of a one-up-manship than anything.

What is it with you American and this Viper/Corvette thingie...I don't get it...haven't driven a Corvette yet but you can see them all over the place...nearly every third American seems to have one...the Viper is more rare but I don't get the fuzz...it got power yes...but besides that I could hardly see (my eyes are at the same level of the top frame of the window), I am missing the sporty exhaust sound (sounds like a UPS truck) and the charme of a good old Italian sports car...

Certainly I agree...the CC is overpriced in my eyes too but so is the Ducati - at least in my eyes. I guess I am just not able to justify such an amount of dollars for a bike...disregarding whether it is a race bike or not.

OK, put it into a M3 or M5 BMW. I can assure you the value will hold more on these vehicles than a sport bike anyway. Hell, look at ducati. May be a great bike, but resale blows on them.

Oh yes...nearly any bike is not a good investment...but it is kind of the same with cars...a Honda Accord is also not really that good of an investment. I am not sure whether I pointed that out earlier already...but my Gixxer already lost nearly 35% in seven months...I am pretty sure it is not only a Ducati problem. Granted...if the price tag is $72K in the first place....loosing 35% is certainly more painful... :D

but back to the bikes.... i think that duc would be the only duc id own!

Of course you don't get the Viper/Corvette thing Andreas...you didn't grow up in the glory days of the American Muscle Car. One of our members has a 1968 Camaro for sale for $42,000...these classics are becoming real collector's items as the numbers of them dwindle.

I lusted after a Corvette ever since I first remember seeing and hearing one, much like you likely did for your favorite European sports car. I have to say, the Ferrari holds a special place in my heart too, but there is not a car on earth that provides the value and performance of a Corvette for the money.

The next Corvette will be the 2009 ZR1, which will have 650 supercharged horespower, will top 215 MPH, and run circles around any car in the world in the $100K range...and most cars in the $200K range. It's only the super-exotics like the Veyron and the FXX amd the Hyper Porsche that have a chance to beat it at the Nurburgring. Also, check the weight of the Corvewtte compared to most Euro sports cars...they are heavy, the Corvette is almost down to 3000 pounds.

I owned the previous ZR-1 and was a lucky test driver for Chevrolet on that project, flogging the car on the high banks of Talladega at 175, and at $65K was still a world beater for the money. I also raced Corvettes in 1989.

I hope this helps you understand our Red, White and Blue love for american muscle.

The truth is that I would also choose a Corvette over the Ducati or MV for that level of money... I can't imagine needing more speed on 2 wheels than I already have, but I'm between Corvettes at the moment with plans to pick up a Z06 for the track in '08, and the new ZR1 when I am able to get one for the street.

<snip>

Wow...Robert thank you very much...I certainly did not expect such a long answer. :applause:

Based on my age...yes....I missed the muscle car time...I definitely agree here...and being a German does not help either in this regard... ;)

However, I was a little bit short on the words in my previous reply though. I know that the Viper or the Corvette for that matter is the best bang for the buck when it comes down to performance. And certainly I did not want to offend anyone...if I did, I apologize.

I also have to admit that I wouldn't have the Corvette categorized as a muscle car so you caught me right there.

Having said all this...there are actually two muscle cars coming out in the next two years that I would buy right away...one is the Dodge Challenger and the other one the Chevy Camaro. Now....the difference is simply that these cars look nice in their own ways....certainly only in my opinion in the first place.

I have to be honest and admit that everything in life has to be "Function follows Design"...be it women (never had that much luck with them though), sports cars (never had much luck with them either), bikes (ahhh...you know it already..) or the small kitchen appliance and so on. Design is certainly in the eye of the beholder so one cannot argue about it anyway...

At the same time, I also do not like mainstream...in other words, if I would buy a Ducati, it would not be red because 90% of all buyers choose red. Coming back the Viper/Corvette...that leaves us with the following:

Corvette is too mainstream...you really see them a lot - there is even no color that nobody wants. The Viper certainly is not mainstream but is - sorry to say that - butt-ugly. Again....this is my taste and certainly I do not want to offend anybody who actually likes them.

I have always been, currently are and certainly will always be a big fan of Italian design in terms of cars and motorcycles (and yes...women as well  ) so I am certainly biased here. I just think Ferrari or Lamborghini are closer to a race car than anything else and the sound of the engines makes me just wanna :censored:

Now...where does that leaves us? Somehow lost the thread... :dontknow: ...anyway...enough said for now... :D

excuse me if if i say this....the f41000cc just came out with a new version for 2008...the f41000 "312" which stands for 194 mph. i dont like this bike.

i like the desmosedeci....which is getting very good reviews just by running the bike stock in several circuits here in the U.S.A........by adding an aftermarket pipe (german pipe) and some other ECU TRICKS....bike can pump some 233hp+.....this bike is turning heads. ducati really did very good on this especial edition bike. it handles very good...just like a motogp bike. not only that but even the stock pipe sounds very good.....the bike is in few magazines...which i have being reading for the past few days...the more i read the more i like it....to bad i can not spent that kind of money.

I have loved cars and bikes forever. Exotic/amer muscle whatever. If price is no option Ill take a maclaren f1. But form function and real money a zo6 and vipers are the best example for bang for the buck. The cost of really owning and maintaining ferrari/lambo/saleen exotics is insane. I love the look and sound of a countach/testerossa to the bone. Real life i would will look in 5 years for a nice 06 z06 and love it and be able to MAINTAIN IT. Didnt mean to leave out Porsche Gt/ or a nice 959 awd. If you can have one realisticly what would you do? Sorry for any spelling mistakes. My 07 Repsol fits my bill for now.
