Rumor has it that Taylormade will no longer be making pipes for our bikes. Robert, is this true?

If so, it looks like I missed the boat on this one and will never have a set on my bike. :(

Well...even if they stopped making them....there should still be enough in the market shouldn't there?

For example the Repsol Store (http://www.repsolstore.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=184&osCsid=f57c6e8f7711ef6f11977a4282a864d9)...

They are custom made per order. So there would be no stock of them anywhere.

I have confirmed that Taylormade has ceased production on pipes for our '04-'07 1000RRs...

What I referred to in my 2008 1000RR post is that it will be a challenge to build a pipe for the new 2008 bike for all manufacturers but particularly for Taylormade for a pipe like the one they build for the Suki 1000 and 750...as pictured below... the suspension link is in the way on our bikes...and the '08 has yet to be sorted out.

I am sure all manufacturers will come up with something, but they will have to integrate a fairing element to make them look any good because of the way the new can is on the stock machine...made to look like part of the body work on the dark section...second pic below. Taylormade is expert at doing this as you can see, and of course you can paint the carbon fiber if you don't like it in the raw.

Since you have a Suzuki ASM, you should check out what Taylormade has for your bike...sweet stuff. I'll be visiting his shop tomorrow to see what's under development for the '08 Honda on my way to Thanksgiving.

Robert,

Thanks...I have to admit, this exhaust does indeed look sweet...however, I may not have my Suzuki that much longer... :D

I always see these mufflers on GSXR's, never seen one on a Honda....strange..

That's because he hasn't made one like the pic above for a Honda...YET!

He has made the underseat for Suzuki and Yamaha for a while...2006 was the first year he had those available for Honda...which fit '04-'07

Any real pics? Not the ones from their website.

Look at customer bikes under each manufacturer category and there are plenty of "real" pics...including my bike.

Have a great Turkey Day...hittin' the road...RR

Yeah, this bites. It was the one big thing I was really thinking of doing to my bike.

I can confirm that there will be no more Taylor Made's for the CBR1000RR. We called today and they will not make any and have no back stock. A sad day :(

I thought they made a shorty out the side like the one for the GSXR. I have seen these before on Hondas. Not to crazy about them.

I confirmed this during my visit today...one last chance to own a TaylorMade for your '04-'07 1000RR...I came to the forum to post the news and Australia beat me to it...cool.

If they can get 15 solid buyers, they will do one last production run...20 is even better. They are selling the tooling for the cans to a guy who uses the same can design for a Triumph application and will be focusing on the next generation product.

I can also tell you that there will be something special for the '08 model from Taylormade. I saw artist renderings today...and I also saw pics of the '08 with the skins removed. I'm not at liberty to share any details, but I will stay on top of these developments.

I discovered that Honda moved the suspension link over enough and with a new exit path for the header from the engine and the smaller engine size there's room for Paul Taylor to do his magic.

I smell an '08 Repsol Robert Project Bike in the making...

They do not make a shorty for Honda like the GSXR pipe in the pic I posted . The only Honda product they have ever made is the dual untertail that this thread refers to.

Be watching for the '08 Honda product though...in time for Laguna '08

I would love to get in on the last batch, but I just can't do it right now. I'll just have to continue to live through you Robert. ;)

I am with BK, Christmas is upon us and I got the kids begging for Xbox 360s, etc. Bad timing. Too bad Taylormade couldn't hold off on their decision until after tax time LOL.

I feel bad for those who cannot get a Taylormade. Got mine in October. Am I the last one here? Will post pics in the exhaust thread
