Post thxgiving ride

With a belly full of leftover turkey it turned out to a be a gorgeous 45 degree sunny afternoon. I'm still waiting for my 05' Repsol to get here so I pulled out the Ducati 996SPS from the garage. The cold air made the engine pull like a bull...went up a local canyon here in Twin Falls called Rock Creek Canyon...about 8 miles of perfect road following a stream up to a ski resort. My feet were a little numb by the time I got back but daymmmnn it was worth it. Hope you guys are still looking for those warm days! Thought I'd try and inspire those of you in the colder climates. I grew up for20 years in MN. I live in Charlotte NC. I am so glad now that i can ride year around. Temp is my biggest killer. With proper clothing Im good to go. If I had to put up my 07 baby for months like in MN, major bummer. Ive been testing cold temp gear. Good long uderwear and jeans if you dont have leathers. Layers for your upper body good leather jacket a must. Most of all get a neck warmer not electric. i have had a wool neck condom for years and it goes inside my helmet and jacket. Simple and very functional. I bought it for skiing long time ago it works great. By the way do any of you here snow ski? preferably well. I have been on skis since 1972.

I got up at 0530 on Thanksgiving morning and hit up the most whicked ride in Sothern California. Palomar Mt, to Mesa Grande, Lilac Rd then Banner all you SoCal riders know what I'm talking about and if you don't I'm hitting it again tomorrow so hit me up if you want to go on the ride of your life in the canyons.....

Oh, I mean I had a very nice ham. Then a nice little :sleep: followed by some homework and talking to some family. Including my step-monster :evilgrin: Hope all had a great holiday and some good riding. I'm jealous :p Ugh, can't wait to get my grubby little paws on a Repsol.

Just back from a late night ride myself......I ran around a bit on the RR for about 15 minutes bought some gas then came back to take out the 250. My girl hasn't been showing it any love lately so I figured I would take it out for a run. So funny riding one of them right after the1000. Went to bring my knees to the tank and felt like they were together that thing is so narrow - warmed it up then launched at 9k slipping it to keep the revs up and it just putters away 3 gears later I hit 70 lol. Went to a big parking lot and ran around the light posts like an obstacle course then hit the street to wind it up, got it goin about 90 before I had to slow down (the brakes and suspension suck for my fat ass) so I gotta slow up early at lights. I could see people looking all confused as the little scooter wailed up at 12K and I wizzed by them, kinda sad to get pulled on in a car by a ninja 250.

Was having so much fun I got off track.........I am lucky I don't live in real cold because I felt like a border line ***** just now. It is 45 out there and going 90 on that darn ninja thing makes it feel cold on my thighs and the boys (only wearing jeans) I will have to throw on another layer or better pants next time.
