Hi All,

What is the amount of oil, between the lower level and the upper level marks in the engine oil window ("inspection window" in the owner's manual)?
E.i. - If the engine oil level is now at the lower level - how much should I fill to reach the upper level?

(CBR1000RR)

Should be some where between the two lines. Check your manual if your not sure.

Welcome to the site by the way. Post up http://www.repsolforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2 <-Here and tell us a bit about yourself.

Dont forget pics of the bike. ;)

Well yes i know it should be somewhere between the two lines. and I know the bike should stand up straight when checking :)

But - I don't want to check, and check again, and recheck if I've hitted the upper level mark already, when filling Oil.
I just want to know that if I'm at the lower level, I should fill X amount of oil, and thats it.

So what should be that 'X' ?

Anything above the lower line is good. In between the lines is good. Just dont over fill it.

Found a pic. Always make sure the oil is warm when you check it too.

Just in case.... http://motorcycles.about.com/od/motorcyclemaintenanc1/ss/Oil_Change_10.htm

Hehe.. PITA.. nice :)
have you been to Israel already?

And BTW-3.9Qts it the TOTAL amount of oil. I'm looking for the amount of oil one needs to fill to get the oil level from the lower mark to the upper mark. Is it 200 milliliter? 300 milliliter?

Noob?
pffff.. i guess i need to post a Newbe post after all, ha? :)

Well Adam, I found something- It should be about 12 ounces. 1 ounce is 0.028 kilogram, 12 ounces is 0.336 litter = 1/3 of a quarter between the lower and upper lines.
Thanks a lot man :-)

Glad I could help. Why did you need to know the exact ammount?

Cause i didn't feel like holding the bike straight, fill a bit, and again refill it, all that when it's dark out side now.

I know the oil is now in lower level mark. I've just wanted to take a can or something with the exact amount of oil, pour it, and go back home, while knowing oil level is correct :D

when in doubt......change the oil and filter. it should be 3.3qts. then run your bike and put on the stand then check the window again.....it should about just the top line.

Wow this thread had me laughing. "This is cracking me up. I hope you're screwing with me." -Adam ///I can see another thread in the near future by Zedik..."Hey my oil is about a milimeter below the lower fill line..NOW how much should I put in Adam? Huh? Huh?" Yeah...I've always just put my bike on the stand..and watched it as I poured it in. Call me traditional but....

Hehe.. I always fill it while looking at the oil window, and recheck it again.
Just tonight - i don't feel like doing so in the freezing cold outside :scared:

BTW, almarmada, its better not to use a stand when filling oil (that is if you're using the one that lifts the rear wheel only), but to straight the bike with both wheels on the ground.

Yep, Use a front and rear stand to both keep my tires from flat spots in the winter months and to have it level while filling. :) Oh yeah..and so I can sit on it and make vroom vroom noises since I can't ride it. :)

Freezing Cold? In Israel? Is that possible? Or is it one of those normally 120 degrees normally and now it's like 100 degrees outside?

Thanks man. This is exactly the answer I was looking for, back then, a half year ago :D

Jacobs Dad - about that November cold - It was something like 5 degrees Celsius (41F) - so yes, it considered to be very cold here..

BTW - I'm replacing my 2005 repsol with a new Fireblade this weekend(hopefully), of model 2007 Tricolor, from the local dealer's last year stock.
Does this mean I won't be allowed to write here when having the Tricolor?
