You need to remove the valve cables as they will no longer work with the aftermarket exhaust. Also, you don't need to re-install the heat shield if yo line the under tray with heat resistant tape.

Sorry your having trouble man..Can be a little tricky..you won't reuse the heat shield..pipe should have come with heat foil and paper diagram..if not, use cardboard to draw or cut out space needed to use foil on..and im not talking about reynolds wrap..lol..sorry..you can prolly pick some up at hardware store or local shop...and make sure you have all screws and bolts out of the heat shield and sqweeze it together to pull it out..it's tight, but it will come out...I pushed the sensor lines up into the spaces they were originally in and foiled over them..it's been a while since I did mine, so I cant remember all the exact steps..look in the how to forums for exacts..maybe someone else with a little more expertise will chime in..I know I didnt offer much, but hope this helps a bit..I will look around here too for more info...T
looks like your about to get answers...man your fast bk..;)

just looked at my ex heat shield..once you have the old pipe off..there shouldnt be anymore screws or bolts to remove for the heat shield to come off..the only extra one would be the screw behind the tool kit, directly under the seat..there are 2 prongs on the sides that help seat the shield, thats why you have to squeeze it..everything else should allready be undone if you have the stock pipe off..

There is a "hidden attachment" for the heat shield...I remember having the same challenge...just refer to the manual (download shop manual) to locate all the attachment points and you'll figure it out.

Got past that now the big clamp. You get rid of the short bolt onder the rear cowl. And hang it from ther with the bolt and spacers? Had to quit for the night. If this works out Im gonna be happy. I refuse to be in over my head but this is new to me and in so afraid doing something wrong.Thank you for your quick help. Im dying to hear and ride it!

When you connect the rear pipe the one before the muffler leave it loose and try and get it in the middle then put the can on so you can move it around a bit and get it in the right spot. I remember it took me a while to get it to sit straight . I just fitted the Jardine headers to make mine a full system thankyou Repsolstore. I have also wrapped the whole lot in exhaust wrap and heat paint, it was a bit of a mission but got there in the end . I thought it sounded good before but now its even better, off to the dyno shop for a custom map on wednesday.
Just do it slowly and you'll be right.

You are correct....the new longer bolt and spacers replace the short stock bolt and nut.
Make certain you install the clamp properly....if you look at the holes where the bolt goes thru...you will see there is a difference in the spacing.

I thought it wasnt centered when they drilled the hole....but actually, you need to have the thinner side touching the subframe.

I will take a picture and post later this morning.
