I am building a replica of a repsol replica and was thinking of placing stickers on then shooting a couple coats of clear over them any one think this will work?
I was thinking it would protect the stickers and provide a smooth surface to wax if the clear would flow and stick to stickers.

I painted ,y cell, and put an ICON sticker one the back. If you do it very thin layers on the sticker it should. If not, it will crack and fish eye...........

How do you prep them

After you prep all the surrounding paint, clean the decals well and the most important step to having the clear stick. . . and last is to use a good adhesion promoter before you spray the clear.

this is not a job for beginners. You could ruin your plastics with fish eyes, or non adhesion, or milky clear, or runs, or to much orange peel (to dry), or visible sand scratches, or ect....

I would appreciate all the advice you are willing to give
it will probably be spring before I spray but I am listening to you
and I will be doing this myself

I'm gonna do mine in march when it warms up a little. If you have never sprayed before i would get a quote from a local paint shop, or start practicing now. Bike plastics are very difficult to shoot with all the angle changes and contours.

Are you going to paint or just clear coat?
I ask because I have not researched the colors needed yet?

Just clear to protect the all the decals. . . . you cant get the originals for the 05' anymore and washing starts to take a toll.
