Hi All,

I'm a new member from South Africa. I took delivery of probably the very last Repsol in South Africa 2 weeks ago and is looking at replacing the stock muffler with a Jardine slip-on muffler. Reason for selecting the Jardine is that I would like to obtain the standard look and fit as much as possible.

Does anyone now whether one need to loose the stock black exhaust covers fitted on top between the stock muffler and taillight or can you keep that in place when fitting a Jardine can. :confused2: Also, will appreciate any feedback on the pipe and reasons if any, why I should not buy the pipe.

Regards.

Not sure on the fit, but if you are looking to keep the closest to the stock fit and look, the micron would be the closest.....

The Jardine dual outlet is quite a bit wider than the stock shield, you would have to do some major trimming. Also, the plastic shield has the end molded with two little humps to fit the shape of the stock can, it will probably look silly, unless you were able to trim enough off of the end.

Like 1 eyebrother said, the Micron dual looks closest to stock, sounds good, and doesn't stick out more than the tail, I have it on my '05. The Jardine is LOUD !!! so if that is your thing....go for it !!

I have an 07 and I installed a Jardine Dual outlet on it last month. All the stock stuff fits perfectly with the pipe.....no problem.

I love the dual outlet.. Had it at one point on an 06' 1000rr. I miss her so much. That was one loud pipe, and loved how it didn't stick out past the tail.

Hi All, thx for the replies and welcome notes

SIXDOG, thanks a stack,,those pic's answered all my questions and confirmed that the fit will be what I'm looking for. :D

Sure look's nice but I'm a bit concerned over the comments that the pipe is LOUD,,,really looking for something mild with nice sound and a bit more power over the stock muffler.

Looked at the Micron pipe but can't buy it locally,,,,any comments on the Acropovic,,,will that be a better choice over the Jardine?

Can get both locally but the Acropovic carries a hefty price tag of about $250 over the Jardine,,,seems a bit much and I suspect the local importer is ripping us off! Any comments on the pricing where you are?

Regards.

Thanks Rudi....I don't know much about the other pipes but my Jardine was $395.00. As far as loud, well it sure does sound good to me!!! I like my bikes to have some soul...I have a CBX witha 6 into 1 and it's louder.
I am sure you will get the pipe that fits you Rudi and when you do.....post some pics brother......
