I have an 07 and have seen the tank protection stickers on all kinds of bikes, some very tacky! I have not seen one that would look good on my tank. I do see a little rubbing marks on it and do not want to damage it. What do you use for protection, I mean tank protection:cool: Can I buff it out a little before I do somthing? Again thanks for info.

wow not bad for 15.95.
I sure would like to have something like that instead of some ugle tank protector. I know for sure I would want to protect the tank from my wives rings when she is riding with me when I get my Repsol.

Hope she doesn't slip off, she might accidentally grab the wrong "handle" and take it with her!! :yikes:
Which means say goodbye to :cyclops:

I've seen tank pads in clear just not sure where :confused2:
For the sides try these they are clear but sticky like rubber excellent grip for hard braking etc, I also find on long trips I can hug the tank better with my knees taking the pressure off my back and wrists ,these are really good !http://www.egrips.com/tanktredz/

For just the center portion I put on a carbon fiber Pro Grip that looks pretty sweet. The Honda wing tips that come to a point there have a carbon fiber look to them so this matched well.
I didn't use a Keiti because they are much bigger and would cover the wings. I removed the seat and put it just below the wing tips. I think it turned out nice.
Here's some pics. Hope it helps. :D

When I had my other bike in 98 she didn't so I am sure when I get my Repsol she won't wear any.

It does look nice and flows with the wings because you sure don't want to cover them up.

I bought a 24"X48" roll of 3M clear adhesive cut out a shape that fits the tank sides, plus the back portion, and it is totally invisible.
I managed to get both bikes covered and had some left-over for miscellaneous stuff.

Can the tankslapper or the 3m tape be removed and replaced if needed without stripping the paint?

Not to completely hijack the thread, but you should be ashamed of yourself for letting her get on the bike without gloves.

I didn't mind because she didn't have any rings on and she didn't want to wear gloves because she said they made her hands sweat too much, but now that she has the wedding ring I will definatly put something on the tank. That tankslapper looks like something I might want. Its clear and you cant tell that it is there and that is definately something I am looking for.

Thats exactly what I did. Stuff works great. I replaced the tank portion once already due to heavy riding but it never went through to the paint. Real easy to remove and install a new one.

Sounds like Donna.....lol I dont have a problem with her wearing gloves she just tries to squeeze the gold rings on under the gloves.....it is just that she likes to wear nothing but the gloves helmet and boots;);)

The tank slapper is something I think I will go with, not too much into the protective tank pads. I like the clean look of the tank.:twocents:

I had a buddy who had a tank bra and when he took it off after a while you could tell there was a difference in the paint where the tank bra was covering.
