Hey fellow Repsolians.:) If thats OK. Anyway Im sure it has been covererd but I seem to get a different answer every time I ask someone about installing a power commander. First I have a Jardine c/f slipon which I love. But I get every answer from put a p/c on even a stock bike let alone with mods. Others say for the money it only gives you a couple extra hp. Then you here how smooth it makes the power range low end thru mid. I notice a little hesitation on very low rpm and seems to run a little rich. I also think you can map it different. Im leaning to getting one installed. Is it easy to map yourself and does the different maps make a big dif? Im also assuming install is beyond my skills which is fine. Thanks! P.S. Im seeing the p/c for about 320 and 100 install.

If you've got the money, do it. If you don't, don't do it.
I don't have one, but everyone I know that has one says it improves the bikes manners in the low end, it makes the power smoother.
Some day, when I grow up, I'll put a PC on my bike. Right now, I'm focusing all discretionary funds on the purchase of my next vehicle...

The PC absolutely makes a difference in my opinion. After I installed mine, it was like night and day in throttle response.

Thanks so far. Now im thinking a sprocket change for low end and hesitation. Would you do the sprocket front or rear then do the p/c. From what ive read it sounds like changing the rear. Again Im looking low end thru mid. By no means am I board or have any issues with my bike being to slow. I just want to get the best out of her. Making a fast and smooth street machine . I think changing the exhaust I notice the small issue of maybe running rich. If you sit still for a bit at a light it seems to load up on the fuel ??? Those mods seem to be an answer. :confused2:

I went up two teeth in the rear, comparable to down one in front, but my tuner recommends up in the rear so that you don't affect torque delivery by tightening the chain arc at the front.
If you want to get the most for your sprocket change money, change to a 520 setup (including chain)...you'll gain about 2HP at the rear wheel due to reduced weight and rotational mass.
Be careful though...it's quite a bit more wicked in the lower 3 gears...will spin up in 3rd...
I went with Driven sprockets...RK Chain...nice stuff
This won't help the bikes tuning at the low end and mid range, but the PCIII will...I would definitely do it again if I had the choice...and there are plenty of good maps out there so you don't need to pay for a dyno tune. Since you're not a do it yourselfer I think $100 is reasonable considering how much time it takes to do it right. I did my own, but it requires care and patience.

And would that be an '08 1000RR? I just finished reading reviews from a friend who got invited out to Laguna to ride it, and all I can say is...it's a done deal for me...+10-11HP... - 15-17 pounds of weight...superb handling, excellent slipper clutch... you can call it ugly...I'm gonna call one mine!

if you get the power commander......you can get on line with jardine or from pc website....down load a super custome made set up for your pipe with out strugling about setting up your settings.
i have two friends......they have kawis....they got on line and downloaded the settings already for their pipes and bikes. those bikes are running very smooth and that was 6 months ago....so far no problems, no power surges, no throttle problems, no hick ups.....i rode my friends zx10rr.....theyre running very nice with their settings.
but all depends on preferences.
