You have to host it on another site, like youtube, and then post a link here. You can embed it in a post by pasting in the link, highlighting it, and pressing the # button at the top to wrap it in code brackets.

Sorry guys! i didnt get a chance to shoot video today but i built a diffuser that cut the sound in half. It will be a removable item for the just in case (cops, angry neighbors, ect). it will hurt performance a little, but i dont think very much . It felt the same on a road test but i wont run it unless i have a reason. . . i like it loud!!

because the header has to be modified, and has to be fitted just right. . . you would have to send your header and right lower plastics to me to build another and have it fit. Remember that the plastic has been cut (so no going back) and permanent modification to the header

That sound and looks bad ass. It dosen't sound ass loud as I thought it would, maybe its just the video recording. If the dyno goes right you may have a money maker in your hands. You would probably have to find some way of simplifying the install. You could probably sell it as a full exhaust the only trick would be cutting the fairing.

remember guys.....that if you get caught with an after market pipe. and the cops want to give you a hard time....fixing it ticket or citation can be cited on the spot......and changes would have to be made to the pipe and bike. unless your ready to pay a high fine....over $250 if the pipe has no dot #s written on them.

all depends from the officer if he wants to be a major ''D''.

well I never heard of a cop pulling over someone for having a loud pipe in all the years I have been riding. I have had some cops pull me over for speeding and ask about the pipe, but they were not jerks about it.

every stock pipe comes with dot # stamp on the pipe and some warning logos.

back in 90's.......i used to get pull over in Southern calif. some time for the pipe and some times cause i look so fast and suspicious. nowa days, it is difficult to get pull over just for the pipe.....but if the cops want to give you a hard time and act like a majo "d"......then yes you could be in trouble.

If Hotbodies does not un-f:censored: these issues(see below), I may bin their exhaust, rework the undertail and apply one of your outlet/silencers if you are willing to build another. To simplify the process, I would modify my header and fairing, and you could send me your part ready to fit. I'm going to give HB a few days to fix this. If you are interested, I'll get back with ya. Thanks!!

Re: D&D Slip on

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry guys, but I have to vent. I got my HB exhaust Friday and began the install at 5:30 that evening after going to Auto Zone to get some heat reflecting tape. The kit came with a piece 4 inches wide and maybe 2.5 feet long. Try to cover the plastic surrounding the pipe with that!! Ok, not a good start for a $650 kit. Spent 45 min. applying tape so I could rest easy about heat issues and really got it covered well. Next step is mount the pipe.... Yeah. So, I locate their S bend pipe and attempt to "slip" it on the stock mid-pipe as per instructions. Not gonna happen as they seem to share the same ID(inside diameter 1-15/16in). So, I call HB for tech support. Got Jeff on the line. Jeff says to "modify one or both pipes" or send HB the defective S bend for analysis. Did I mention I recently quit smoking and have only had 4 hours of sleep? The HB exhaust is ceramic coated inside and out so I decide to remove this at the junction to increase S bend ID. First sand paper and on to a grind wheel on my power drill. Closer, but still not happening. I end upcutting 3 slits in the end of stock mid pipe, line the 2 up and bang them together. Wiggle them into position, line up/slip on silencer and tighten all clamps. Ok, now we are getting some where. Start up bike and check for exhaust leaks. None at the joints cause I used Permatex Ultra Copper to seal them. However, it does have 2 leaks where the end cap fits in(this part is pre-assembled by HB)!! Mother F. It's 9:00pm now and I have to get ready for work. Thought I would just line up the undertail(orange, bike is red!) to see how it looks real quick. No, the silencer sits about 1/2in too low for it to line up!! OMFG!!! I'm not new at this stuff. I've been riding 25 plus years and do all my own work plus some on the side (for $$$). People, this is the most poorly designed/constructed aftermarket POS I have EVER dealt with. Maybe my case is an anomaly? I get off work in half hour and I'll take it apart and start over. Maybe it worked itself out over night? More to follow.

Per several of his posts above, Troy's trying to get it to a dyno so he can answer that question for us.

If it's even with stock, or better than stock, I may be doing this to the '07. IF I can keep it from sounding like 20 bikes running down the road... don't want a super loud bike.

Its loud but it is baffled. most of the harleys around here cant say that and they have always got away with strait pipes. utah inspection states that it must have a baffle and i have that.
I contacted the guy in vegas that does allot the big name racers bikes and he will dyno and build me a full custom map for $150 to $200 so i am saving and will try to get down there in a couple weeks. I will be happy no matter what. . . the throttle response is great. it revs faster and comes down faster and under full throttle it sounds so throaty.:D

If I remember correctly I spoke with Diel a while back about the back pressure issue and to my knowledge there is none required for these engines, but because of the air flow change you must incorporate a power commander with a custom map after installing exhaust such as this.

If I remember correctly I spoke with Diel a while back about the back pressure issue and to my knowledge there is none required for these engines, but because of the air flow change you must incorporate a power commander with a custom map after installing exhaust such as this.

LOOKS FREAKING AWESOME TROY.....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

If thats what Diel says thats good enough for me !

Very nice job...what did you use to fill in the hole?

its a plastic repair compound made by fusor. Its body shop grade for plastic bumper repair where structure strength is needed. I use it for cracks in plastic bumpers.

Looks SICK bro sounds even better , this would be a great mod for me the SATO full Ti system keeps buring thru the lower right. It takes about 3K or 4K miles but even with some heat shielding tape it comes right thru the HONDA on the bottom. I have tried everything, I think this would seriously help me out. I could probably sell the SATO system and just get some nice TI headers and butcher myslef a mid pipe and then finish the outlet like yours hmmmm.. guess I need a game plan, I was lucky that insurance replaced the last 2 plastics on the lower this one is on me. Thanks for the nice work TROY :D

the 07' and 05 header are the same. No it will never be a bolt on. Its not possible! The header has to be made to turn out instead of up. It has to be cut in "pie" cuts in about 5 places to make this possible, and it gets shortened as well. I wish it could be a slip on. . . i could make lots of money that way, buts its just not possible.

Did you read O.A.'s last post (and the rest of this thread)?

It's a custom exhaust and cannot be made as a "slip-on". A true slip-on installation would have to bolt directly to your stock header, without modifying the stock header, which means it lives under the passenger seat.

If you want the ease of a slip-on, you're looking at under-seat exhaust.

Troy, have you had any issues with the exhaust burning the lowers where it exits?

Also have you come up with a price to do the entire package...pipe and undertail? and what is the turn around time for you to do this?

No heat issues. when riding it is much cooler not running through all the extra pipe and burning your leg as well.
Take the time and read the whole thread and i'm sure most or all of questions will get answered.:)

they have nothing but good things to say about it! i think it could possibly be the best looking setup i've seen. And i read the thread, you said that it would cost about 450 for the pipe and paint and what not, but you never mentioned if you were going to do the undertail as well (if we supply one that is)?

and i hate to ask you again but did you ever get the #'s on it from the dyno?

And i will probably be in touch with you after this season is over here in the Pa for that setup! just a heads up.

No:( to be honest i have been broke and have not ridden much at all lately, and never made it to SEMA this year. My bike runs great! Do you have any kind of silencer? Or down sizing of the tubing at all before the exit? Do you have a Power Comander? I had to richen mine a little but thats it.

Mine really comes to life up in that range! And your at a better altitude!?:confused2:

I am still running the map from my Jardine slip on w/aftermarket filters... just richened it up on the unit a couple bars and have not had a single issue yet. Which is why getting to the dyno has not happened yet. If it struggled anywhere in the rpm range, or had any performance issues i would have been forced to do something before now. I think the key is that i used a slightly smaller diameter baffle inside my silencer and it worked out to be a good compromise in back pressure to the shorter tubing and bends that it no longer has to push through.
