Actually after looking more closely it dosent look like build up it looks like it may have delaminated at the openings. Don't know if I would buy it. It is pretty cheap, I got mine for $450 new.

Ive read that about that carbon pig nose pipe....wasnt sure if there was a way to repair it....if that is heat damage.

Yea, I've read that too. It supposed to only happen with the 1st gen ones but thats a 2nd gen one like mine. It does look like it has some damage at the openings.

Jason,
I found this post from the other site.

that auction on ebay is jardine selling off all the old style dual outlets that had tip burning issues.
if you look at the can the end cap is riveted on. the new style is not built that way.
these cans were discontinued for a reason.

Im searching for more posts regarding that pipe

I would not hesitate to buy a used slip-on, if the price is right and yes the carbon buildup will come right off.

Actually that one uses bolts, the rivits hold the carbon fiber on the pipe. If the cap was rivited you would see to sets of rivits right next to one another. You can see the bolts on the pic I posted.
