I would spend the extra $40 and get a set of Vortex.

Yeah, if I would have had more to spend I would have went all out but the Vortex are great rearsets for

the money. Really solid, smooth and adjustable. Just noticed that those dont look as adjustable as many other

brands out there. That is one of the main reasons for replacing rearsets and those dont look to have

too many options.

Gilles Tuning makes SICK rear sets. Personally, I hate Vortex rears but I love their sprockets! Some of the local expert racers here in Maryland have had clearance issues with Vortex Rear Sets.
I'm going with the new VCR's because they're infinitely adjustable:cool:

Thats what I did....I was considering the Hong Kong versions...but for the extra Jacksons, I got me the Vortex...and havent had any issues with them.

Thanks little buddy. Will the 600rr rear sets work for the repsol? They didn't show the 1000rr rearsets.

Thanks, damn that's alot of $$$$. Are they really worth it? Guess it's in the eye of the beholder.

Always wondered why aftermarket rearsets. So it's for adjusting for what rider hight or what? That would be nice seeing Im 6-4/6-5. Would that make a big difference? What else make them a good mod? Thanks

I think mainly its for the adjustability aspect....you can move them up/down/back/forward a few mm than the stock position...but not much.

Also, I think with most sets...you can change the shift pattern....from standard to "reverse"(GP) shift.

I'm 6'2"...I used my Vortex to move my rearset back and up....and switched to the GP shift.

I guess you like it? Looks like 4 to 5 hundred for good ones. I would like it if Its worth it. Why do you like the gp shift pattern?

Vortex go for 250-350.00.
You can find a deal on them every now and then...Used.

I wanted to try the reverse shift for sh its and giggles....and am now giggling that I love it so much.

Im sure one of the track hounds will pipe in with some info on the reasoning of GP shift.

gp shift creates faster upshifts but in saying this.. it does take a bit of getting used too & there is nothing worse than going up a gear when you really want to go down a gear

in a case such as mine i had to change both bikes over simply for the fact that you need uniformity ortherwise it is too confusing

makes it risky if you ever swap bikes to testride with someone also

The reason I've always heard is that it allows an upshift exiting a corner, while the bike is still leaned over too far to get your toe under the shift lever... makes sense to me.

Correct you are my little redneck buddy...HH had a good point also, but your response was more reasonable...his aussie accent gets in the way. :)
