can you take a picture of the mounting brace? thatll give a better indication of how strong they are and how prone they are to bending. the delrin part will feel like cheap plastic but its designed to smoosh(sp?) like a crayon on the road and absorb the impact

when I get home from work I will take a pic and post it....the mounting bracket is just a peice of aluminum with 1 hole that the slider screws into and another hole you bolt to fasten the peice of aluminum to the bike....thanks again

I installed the Shogun no cut sliders on my bike yesterday and I love them. I had heard of the 05 having a problem with a water neck elbow on the left side, something about the slider crushing the elbow after a tip over. It seems that on the 07 that the elbow is relocated because the slider base is nowhere near it.

Check 58cycle, they carry some nice looking carbon fiber sliders for it.

My buddy TX Repsol found these (LighTech). I have the LP's but I like these better and will probably switch. If you look close there is part of the mounting bracket that goes up under the frame. That should give a lot of support. Also, the mounting bracket seems shorter so it would have less flex. I looked at the motovation sliders and I just don't like the idea that those bolts go into the side cover, which goes into the case. If it fell hard it could push the bolt into the case splitting it:eek: then you are talking BIG $$$.

I'm looking for some sliders myself - the carbon fiber sliders mentioned above are made by Lockhart Phillips and you can find them here (http://store.58cycle.com/product_p/cf%20fs%201000rr%2006.htm)

Trading? Ouch. Are you taking a big hit on your 05? To be honest, its almost a better option to spend the $1500 on all the Respol Bodywork and transform your 05 rather than lose money in a trade. I'm only mentioning it b/c they will sell your bike for $2500+ more than they give you for it.

I know the 06 and 07 CBR1000's are essentially the same but I thought Honda made a bunch of changes from 05 to 06 ,brakes, engine, weight distribution, frame, etc.....in which case the 07 Repsol should be different than the 05 in more ways than just bodywork:confused:
