There are a bunch of manufacturers out there with cool looking flushmounts for the 1000RR.

91
Watsen Design (http://www.watsendesign.com/Honda_Products/Honda_products.htm) makes one that is color matched for the Repsol.

89
Gregg's Customs (http://www.greggscustoms.com/prod_honCBR1000.html) makes nice little inserts and I've seen people paint these to match the Repsol.

90
Hotbodies (http://www.hotbodiesracing.com/signals.htm) makes some cool inserts as well.

92
I went with short stalk front and rear. I've been using flush mounts for years on my 900, but have recently opted for a more visible option.

those watsen's are pretty cool but i want something that sits a little more flush. i've found a set called protons, they are also able to be wired as running lights which i like and have 4 effects for turn signals (strobe effect  ) its either those or the watsens im not sure. i wish greggs still made them in repsol orange, those look sweet.

I went with the Hotbodies and love them. The only thing that sucks is making left hand turns during the day, cars cannot see the signals because of them being flush. I just started using hand signals when needed.

I put these on my Repsol, did order the smoked lense. The stick out form the faring recess enough that they are also visible from the front. They are LED and bBest of all they work and look great at a good price.

Sorry, I dont have any pix of the sportbikeeffect installed, as I got them late in the season and did not take a pixs. It's winter in MI and shes all covered up in the garage. I am heading out of town and will take some pix when I get back on Sunday - you're gonna like them for two reasons
1) Kick bu_t price
2) Can be seen from side and front
3) LED not bulbs
Sorry to make you wait.

I went with the Proton's....and then painted them with an Orange laquer clear to have them match the orange on the Repsol plastics.
They were less than 100.00 if I recall.

Well, since I scuffed my left Proton and because I'm anal (Umm, not the dirty anal) about having a perfect bike...I think Im going to unload my Protons.
I have since sanded the groove marks out and she is ready for the Orange paint.
I'll post them in the "For sale" section as soon as I can.

I may get something cheaper....I thought the Protons were awesome, I had to special order the orange paint..but once I did the mod, they looked great.
But at 100.00 a pair...I think this time around I'm gonna go with the clear HotBodies and paint them orange.

I will repaint the Proton that I scuffed and either keep as a spare or sell.

I went with the hotbodies. I already had them on the '06 and when I got the Repsol, I had them changed over. I have got to get the resistor installed to slow down the blink rate though.

As far as the visibility from the front, I just always assume cars don't know what I'm doing!!!!!

Hey MOTHER, are those Hot Bodies marker lights? did you paint them? cause they look orange in one of the photos.

Mother
April 17th, 2007, 09:26 PM
No, they're not the hot bodies ones... they're different ones that I got from ebay. And yes, I painted them orange with Tamiya clear orange spray paint. I also wired them up with diodes on the signal wires so they function as both running lights and turn signals. I really could not be happier with the results. The name on the package for the signals was "bikeit.co.uk" or something like that. The ebay seller was flyncycle.

Nice pics guys. Now i'm stuck between the new Watson (3-LED) and the Bike Design with an Amber lense. :confused2:

Oh btw, I am getting a plug in relay from Competition Werkes. It replaces the OEM one so you don't have to solder in any resistors for the LED lights. There is one here http://www.bikeeffects.com/products.asp?cat=8522 but it doesn't look like it's a plug in.

The brake/tail light is plug and play, the turn signals you need to splice into the bikes wiring.

There is a write up on it here -

Soldering is easy. Don't just twist the wires and tape it up, do it the right way!!

Although this guy has a cool little thing to hold the wires for him, you can do them yourself...I had my 7 year old daughter help me:)

Be careful though. My blinkers must be disconnected to remove the fairing - I would assume they're all this way.

Soldering the connections means cutting and resoldering EVERY time you take off the fairing...

Unless I'm missing something? :confused2:

With my Watsens, I cut off the plugs (whatever they are called) from the stock signals, and then soldered them onto the CA tail light. Then ya just unplug everything if you want to take it apart.
