No problem. Front and rear stands make any type of work on your bike a lot easier. Things like adjusting your chain, removing bodywork, taking the wheels off to replace the tires, changing brake pads, etc. The bike will sit a little higher and completely vertical. I have Pitbull stands, front and rear. They are over engineered to say the least, which when it comes to my bikes I really like. Very easy to use and adjust from one bike to the other. I've had a bunch of cheaper stands but have stayed with the Pitbulls. They are built solid and have had no problems at all. Welds and bends are perfect on them.

Not a dumb question at all.

Not to mention, cleaning those orange rims are a lot easier when you can spin them freely. No more move two feet, clean, move two feet, clean, etc. At my dealers around here, you save a lot of money on tire changes when you bring in the rim without the bike.

I'll be using my "rear stand" to remove the tire so I can replace the one that went flat because of a large piece of glass. Had a great day at Laguna on Thursday, only to find the tire flat the next morning. :(

At least it didn't go flat on the road.

It will save you money on tire swaps. Most dealers will hit you with atleast 1 hour labor per end to swap them on the bike. A whole lot less if you bring them just the wheels.

Well luckily, My buddy owns a shop nearby and I can change them myself. I don't trust anyone else with me pretty stockers or my new CZ's. If anyone is going to screw them up, it will be me thank you. ;)

I bought a pair of Vortex stands for my '07. The rear stand works OK, althought the stand is set to maximum width. The front stand doesn't seem to want to fit in the space between the bottom of my front fairing and the top of the fender. Am I missing something here? TIA

My pitbull front fits fine between the two, it's just a careful maneuver. The vortex I had always hit the bottom of the upper, never fit quite right.

I just ordered a CycleCat UCS1 stand after reading a lot of good things about it in other forums. It's really spendy ($225 MSRP) but you can get a discount at http://www.motowheels.com/. I'll let you know how it works when I get it.
