Forum sections

As almost all forums have these to paying or the high rolling members what about a private section?

With a post in repsolrogers thread about the anyone can read this makes me feel we may need a private section.

Like a 200 or a 500 post count before you can enter to know your not just a one post whore!

Any thoughts.

Most of our posts are open for the public but these threads could turn alot more personal!

I think this came up awhile back about providing sections that were charged a fee to enter....not to make money, but to eliminate the viewing of the "free viewers" that may be offended by some of the threads/posts.

I dont think it passed B.K.'s approval.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of NWS threads and the like and I feel it has no place here. There are plenty of other placing on the web to view such content. I'm also not a big fan of restricting users for any reason and so far I feel the site has been better for it.

I agree I feel like I can trust many of you but dont like the idea of anybody checking out our business etc. I think a minimum post count would be in order say 200, plus time served say 6 months And a photo album. I know you dont agree BK but I also think the giveaways should be restricted to this section. Its like any kind of relationship you just dont let anyone in your house, its ok to talk to them on the street but until you really know them you dont show all your cards.... None of use are angels I'm not even close , but there are some real bad people out there looking to take advantage in many ways :twocents:

not just this.. but i also beleive some credibility comes into the equation too

i feel that xxx posts & time membership shouldnt be automatically allowing you access to a sealed section...

some people shouldnt be in there full stop in my book

:iagree: I'm with you on that one Mike. A lot of the discussion on this forum isn't confined to our awesome bikes. A lot of us know each other pretty well, and sometimes talk on the forum quite openly. As anyone on the net can access it, sometimes problems can arise like what happened to Jen.

But on the other hand, I don't want to see naked photos of Hoon in a private forum section either. :eek:

well maybe a small consensus comittee...

i mean.. would we really want people lke people like fedie, radical rich, ramrod etc in a sealed sect... i think we would need to have a group of people to agree on access

i feel rather strongly about this..

a few people around here know & have seen vid clips of my exploits & riding history & its not the sort of stuff i want aired in the open pointing the bone at me

i know a lot of the trusted guys would appreciate it hence why a sealed section would be good for these types of things

those that have seen the clips know why i dont want them in the open

:weirdface:its always a difficult one to exclude certain members, one surefire way is to have all of the above requirements but a final vote would be 3 signatures from other members of acceptance, but this is then becoming a gentlemans club rather than a private area.

Well Mike I don't think you can relate what has happened to Moose being attributed to some of her open posts on the site! It's quite obvious that the guy harassing her, knows her and is out to cause trouble! The situation has nothing to do with the information posted up, although it does illisrate the potential issues that can occur with the open banter that tends to occur!

Regardless of that, I do agree with alot of you that it would be good to have a section with access restriction where we can post up without having to worry who may be reading it!

But I guess in the end we have to make our own judgements about who we can trust. I agree, pm's are one thing but privet group discussions are another! As it stands now you don't even need to be a member and you can view everything as a guest!

Well the biggest problems I had and may still have. Was the ex girl reading everything I posted and it wasn't even bad. Like one member posted pictures of his wife I posted something like that's hor or I like, that lead to a 2 week fight! Or the time I invited Nikki and tim and don to Indy for moto gp! Just cause Nikki is a girl even tho she is married I got broken up with! I'm not worried about that anymore as I'm a free man but it's those instance I can't talk freely every one that knows me knows I use this site everyday!

I know Meg has an account here and been a member for some time watching my everymove so a time thing still wouldn't work in. This situation! I say post count and time and maybe a donation to the site! The donation this shouldn't matter cause the ones that would be using it have already donatatsd it's the free ride alongs

I've absolutely narrowed it down to being the ex and his new fiance, however, it is what it is and I have been incapable of putting a stop to it...
