First time on the track, with only 8000 miles of seat time since I first got on a bike last August. Learned MASSIVE amounts of info - my lap times went from mid 1:30s to a best of 1:09.52, and that was with pacing slower riders and taking it easy in the straights to put distance between me and some slower groups.
See if you can pick out day one versus day two from the pics :D Had a great time.

Yep, but they're using older '06 race plastics.

That's what threw me off. I can see the new designed exhaust on the first pic but the front doesn't match the new bike. Good to hear you had such a big improvement in your lap times.

Which track did you do the course at? I was thinking of doing this before I attend a track day. I just dont have the money to spend or the time to take off work.
nice job though, looks like a big improvement from one picture to the next.

California Superbike School was at LVMS. I did another school this past Monday (Cornerspeed - VIR) and let me tell you - doing CSS first made a massive difference in my skill level at VIR and how quickly I was able to pick up the pace and enjoy the track.
The way I look at it, track days are cheaper by about $200 each, but I'd run the risk of picking up bad habits. By doing as much instruction as possible before my first outright track day, several things can happen:
1) I'll likely get bumped out of the beginner group almost immediately
2) I'll likely be faster than a large number of the riders
3) I'll likely be much safer and less likely to get hurt or crash
Schools are sort of like cheap insurance for me and the bike.

That is so awsome, who took the pics for you?
I have to get into that course now, that is way to awsome.
Can you use your own bike for the 2 day course?

Both classes had photographers there offering packages. I just bought a CD with all the photos of me from the vendors - great way to commemorate the school and to see the changes in my positioning.
You're required to use their bike for the 2-day camp; the 2007 ZX6R is pretty quick, though the "no brakes" drill with a slipper clutch was kinda unnerving.
