Anyone try and change the stock 07 windscreen?
I am thinking about having it painted Orange along with the stock hugger?

Interesting post. I thought about changing the windscreen too, but was put off by the need to purchase a new windscreen graphics sticker to retain that stock look. I don't know how readily available those stickers might be.

You could paint it from underneath.

Changing the windscreen would be too much work, that sticker would be a pain to find and or peel off. My friends did the paint behind the screen and it came out pretty good. Of course they used regular spray cans to do it. I have been told that a pro spray gun would come out prefect with the correct color match and that would depend on the sprayer.
If anyone can fit their body close enough to the tank to use the windscreen to see out than this option would not work since it would be blacked out. Hopefully I will get mine painted this coming week and post some pics.

When I had my black R1 I painted the inside of the windscreen with krylon black spray paint made for plastic. It looked great with the black... but I'm not sure on the Repsol. I'm afraid if done in orange that it might be a little too much orange unless something could be done to break it up a little.

you could make the sticker yourself look @ my gallery

Lets see. I will see how close the sprayer can get to the orange first.
Sickrick, what year is your Repsol?

I'm waiting for Mike to get the blue carbon screens in. He has them in black and red but still waiting on the blue. These things are sweet!
Does anyone know the part number for the Honda and Repsol stickers on the screen?

Blue Carbon windscreen? Is there a picture of it Big Kahuna?I haven't seen it yet, but I've seen the red and black version and they are very nice. I'm hoping Mike gets them next week, cause I'm taking the Repsol in for repairs then. Mike hooked me up with a guy that has fixed many of these chain breaking problems and says it will be no problem. I'm so excited!

I have painted a few of my screen on the past with good results. I just lightly sanded the inside then sprayed it. It will look perfectly glossy because the exposed side is smooth and shiny. I personally love the stock screen, and actually use it when goes fast so I like to see through it.

I had a smoke Zero Gravity screen on my '06 CBR1000RR. When I traded, I took the smoke screen off and put the stock back on. Since I already had the screen, I ordered the sticker from the dealer. Should be in this week. It cost me $35.00.

squidracer and I just got our decals. I'm going to stick with the smoked screen for two reasons.
One - I've got the double-bubble on my 929 and think it looks too ghey.
Two - I think the Repsol decal would fit incorrectly on a double-bubble screen as the distance across the screen is longer on the double-bubble. I would imagine the decal would come up short on the sides.

Not to completely hijack the thread or anything, but I'm digging the garage floor. Is that just stained concrete or is it applied on top of the slab?

I have not had mine off yet, but when my dark smoke windscreen comes in tuesday I will. I ordered a new REPSOL sticker and it was inexpensive and only took less than a week to get it in.

Great info!
Hope this isn't a hijack but consider it another good reason to buy a dark windscreen. What I am going to do is buy the dark screen and decal, then take a V1 suction windshield mount, replace the suction cups with machine screws, drill 2 holes at the top of the windscreen and mount the V1 under the screen dead center all the way up at the top so the V1 is directly in my line of sight but still out of the weather and not so visible to police. Also works well because the controls are right there where you can adjust them without taking eyes off the road and you can easily see the arrows.
At speed when you tuck in the V1 ends up like 4" in front of your eyes. All I see is the road and the V1.
This will be bike #5 I've done it with. Sorry if I hijacked

ok BK, "THIS POST IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PIX"!!!!! :)Dude, I know! It's killing me too.
I can tell you this, they are making the windscreens in black, red and blue. I have seen the black and red ones, and they look awesome. Especially out in the sun where the colors really show through the carbon. They are completely carbon screens, so no looking through them like your's John. They are thin, light and have a matte black backing.
The blue Pazzo levers I believe will be exclusively available through Mike. They are unlike Pazzo's current blue and they look almost black until you see them in the sun. Similar to the stock paint of our Repsol scheme. He's also mentioned doing some custom additions to the levers for us Repsol owners but I'll leave that for him to disclose as I've probably already have said too much.
I think my bike was going to be picked up from AEC over the weekend, so maybe we can get Mike to snap a few shots of everything ASAP.
What I can say is that I know of a certain member here who picked up his new Repsol about two weeks ago and hasn't told anyone else here or even posted any picks... I wonder who that could be...

Anyone find the best price on the 07 sticker?
Ron ayers has it for 27.87
Honda Direct line has em for 25.17
Any cheaper places?
Another thing....the 04-07 screen are the same, correct?

1- getting the sticker will not fix your problem as the DOUBLE BUBBLES are taller and hence longer across the front
2-NO 04-5 screens and 06-7 are different minimally but they ARE DIFF
3-i will be taking my stock repsol screen and a NEW DB screen as well to my graphis guy and having him make a more perfect fit extended sticker for the 2007 repsols

and others who have changed their windscreen and kept the REPSOL sticker;
Did you all buy a repsol sticker to fit the new windscreen or let someone design one that fits like the original windscreen?
JohnnyComeLately
May 20th, 2008, 04:45 PM
I bought one from an individual who custom created a stretched version of the original for the double bubble design. My windscreen is a little different than the Puig double bubble, so I had to adjust and slight trim the bottom of the sticker, but it lines up on the top just as good as the original windscreen with OEM sticker.
The guy who I bought it from is now banned, so that gives you an idea who I got it from. I had no problems with him in terms of price, time to ship, and quality.
