I just installed the taylormade exhaust and everything went well except the dash is blinking red and the FI is blinking when parked. They both turn solid when I ride. I'm guessing this is because I removed the exhaust valve cables (as instructed).
An ideas?

You're the only reporting this problem...so I'm guessing you completely removed the cables? What did you inadvertently unplug when you did this...that is the first thing you should look for.
I will do some additional research and see if I can find a related reason for this...but I'm sure other who have completed the install will have some ideas...as it's been years since I did it, but I left the cables in so that stock exhaust re-fitting would be easy...
It may be Monday before I can have an answer...
Cheers...Robert

I've only had the light come on when I try to remove the entire servo assembly. if you remove the cables completly and leave the servo plugged in you shouldn't have a problem.

Whats the error code? How many long blinks and how many short blinks?
If you turned the servo motor it may think the valve is open or closed when its not supposed to be, so if you are getting that code all you usually have to do is turn the motor back to where its supposed to be and it will go off. If you tell me the code I'll look to see what it is.
I just looked at your profile and noticed you have an 07, I don't know if the codes are the same as the 09's but I'll still look.

Rep'07 had the same problem but, acted-up only after 12k miles with a akrapovic full system. Got the O2 sensor elemenator from dynojet and no more problems.

I wouldnt be freaking out too much mate, just work out what your fault is and shouldn't be too hard to fix it! The main issues regarding that exhaust valve removal were not to disconnect the exhaust valve servo....cables to the servo only! Also as what was mentioned inadvertinally rotating the servo can cause the alarm bells to go off! If you didnt mark the original servo position that may be a problem to rotate it back to the correct position! When I did mine I rotated the servo and freaked out coz I was aware thats a problem but when I put the ignition on the servo reset itself no problems nor warning lights! Also I take it the TaylorMade is a slipon so removal of the O2 sensor isnt an issue where you require an 02 eliminator! Worst comes to worst you may need to take your bike through your local shop where they can plug in your ECU and reset the servo if thats the issue here! Good luck!

Its an 05 by the way. I just tucked the cables behind the motor neatly out of the way like manual said after I removed them from quadrant. Maybe i'm supposed to remove quadrant from old exhaust and reattach cables to it to create tension on cables.

In the 08 service manual it says:
34: ECV POT low voltage malfunction
* Loose or poor contact of the EGCA connector
* ECV or its circuit malfunction
34(2) ECV POT high voltage malfunction
* ECV or its circuit malfunction
ENGINE OPERATES NORMALLY FOR BOTH
you may want to confirm that it is the same for the 05.....

That makes sense because the exhaust valve is no longer on bike (in stock exhaust). Now I just have to figure out how to trick bike to see it.

ALL SET
Pulled the cables from where I tucked them away and noticed one was pulled all the way leaving the other short resulting in telling bike it was either wide open or completely shut. Adjusted to same length, wire tied them together, and we're in business. Thanks to all, especially RR for helping out with this great exhaust! Like a new bike!:D:D:D
Love this forum :D
Stay tuned doing flapper mod next !

But the servo should still be on the bike as the others have said...and I forgot that little detail...it just needs to be tuirned to the right position and you should be good to go...
What is the right position...hell if I know? :D To be clear, the servo is not in the exhaust, it's still in the bike...
EDIT: We posted at the same moment...well almost, you beat me to it... so you didn't remove the cables...just disconnected them...and yep, my cables are at the same length which is the magic position...
