Anyone ever move or hide the rear reservior on their bikes? I dont like the way it just hands there after removing the rear pegs.

Look for a g-craft rear reservoir. They look like this. If you need pics of it installed let me know and I'll take some. They bolt on right to the master cylinder.

salvaje
April 5th, 2007, 02:36 PM
That is exactly what I am looking for. I did a couple of searches for the g-craft rear reservoir, but only find forums talking about it. Any ideas on where to order this from?

If we got site sponsors, try them first. I got mine for about $90.00 or so. Make sure you get type 4

I know Mike (CTSmoto) had some in his shop the last time I was there, but he also mentioned that he would be making his own soon. Any word on that Mike?

I was speaking with Mike earlier via email. Trying to get those CTS rotors down here in my shop in NY. If Mike is deff going to produce these reserviors than I'll wait on purchasing mine.

Mine is a 05. They will fit all model years.

I made the rear hugger, used the stock as a mold but added a couple of inches.

She is actually really understading when it comes to bikes and my passion for them. I guess that is because she rides. I still have to talk her into aftermarket or performance stuff like exhaust, fender elim, etc.... I am trying to get a dyno tune out of her right now, but that one is not going so well, but i will overcome :D

Im not quite as big as you, 5'11" 205lbs. but yeah its a tight crunch and I LOVE it!! I sat on all the '07 big 4 liter bikes and I expected the gixxer to be the most aggressive but I think the cbr1000rr takes the cake....maybe cuz the pegs are so high, but again, I love it. :D:D

If you wanna be like everyone else, get the G*Craft. But if you wanna be different and unique, this is the one to get! Looks and performs Great!!!...
You may have to Fab R&D a metal shim to go between the reservoir and the rear set. And don't forget to shave off the bracket-hinges from the rear sub-frame too.

That reservior would look sweet with a set up I saw in a old thread "Mod of the Month Contest" by a (now bannned) member...

Its the Thorsten Invisible Rear Caliper

Whats everyones thoughts on this???

I know the caliper is smaller which = less braking power

My question is how much less??? Enough to notice a substantial difference???

And is there a US distributor or would I have to order from Durbahn in the UK??

Dont want to hijack just been meaning to ask

Then stick with the factory pegs. You dont need that folding peg.

Somewhat mushy is good. Less trouble. Thats why its absolutely pointless to put a braided line on the back.

*SIGH* Can't we stop the TopTaz bashing?? He didn't piss EVERYONE off. He did me right.

I like his rear set up though...

**YES, I know it's a bit hypocritical for me since I bash 1000RR.net every chance I get, but it's because the problems are ongoing and I'd like to keep them as a reminder of how a board can go bad... very bad...

Yes it is... Just posted as an example of what I am trying to achieve

From the threads I've been reading I heard he was a real dick... Hence his ban

I would love to know where he got this set up though...

Wish I knew an american distributor...

Whats the measurement from eyehole to eyehole?

07 Stock rear sets measure just about 1 1/2 inches...

Dont quote me... thats tape measure accuracy

Didnt break out the caliper

Witch partnumber is your mastercilinder and what is the distance between the mounting holes (hart/hart)

Dont know the part # because I bought it from an auction that Anthony suggested from ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350139068079&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&viewitem=

(Hart/Hart)??? From center to center of each mounting point its about 1 1/2"

Im not even sure if Im still going to use it because Im not removing my rear pegs so there really is no need.

If your interested in it let me know I'll sell it to you for $40 plus shipping (what I paid)

You didnt see me call you out on a question you asked that was already answered in the thread now did I?

Yes its available in english but I rather deal with someone local... Cheaper shipping and if I have a problem I can deal with someone face to face rather than through email...

He's a guy who was a regular here and on 1000rr.net, who also sold stickers. For example, I needed a sticker to make my Iridium aftermarket windscreen match the Repsol graphics and he had a version where he'd stretched the middle for double bubble graphics (so it'd still line up). I bought those and Honda/HRC stickers for my rims. I think he got overwhelmed with business/other stuff and had a personality that could rub some the wrong way. He seemed to have a somewhat coarse personality, which some could say so do I....so maybe that's why I didn't have problems with him.

I bought rim stickers, windscreen and he threw in some free Hayden #1 (with 69 ghosted in the middle) stickers and Michelin Man (for the front fendger).

Do an Advanced search on here or 1000rr.net with TopTaz1000rr's name - you'll find threads with him in it. Every single thread will have him yelling at people, calling them idiots, blaming them for his mistakes in fulfilling their orders, telling people to go to hell and don't ever try to do business with him again because he doens't need their money, you name it.

The guy was a royal *****, had the worst customer service in the entire world, and his products were only so-so to begin with (I know, because I bought some of his stuff). There's a reason he gets banned from every forum he joins.

And JCL - this isn't TopTaz bashing, I'm only answering a question for MogNo... :D

Yeah this guy rings a bell.......think he was beofre my time but i remember reading some posts somewhere about a guy that produced decals with really crappy service! Remember something about the buyer never receiving the decals and the guy would swear black and blue they were sent and the buyer was lying about receiving them so they'd get a second set or something! Might have to look this guy up.....seems like some interesting reading! :D
