Yep there is a dealer in Dallas that was doing the same thing (Al Lambs Honda) I do not know if they ever sold it above MSRP price. Freaking hate when they use any excuse they can to make a few extra bucks. Luckily my dealer is not like that (at least with me) and gave me a great deal on mine. I feel bad for the people who pay the high price that some of these stealerships are charging on the 07 Repsol. If you look around on some other forums, some people have paid over 14K before taxes.

Al Lamb's Honda has always been nuts about that. I drove to Fort Worth for my 05 and ended up paying $500 under retail price of a regular one for mine. OTD was 11693.00 if I remember right. And they let me prep the thing.

Got ya both beat. NYC Queens Honda dealer wanted $15,000.00 out the door for the '07.

None of the dealers in Orlando would go below $14.5k out the door when I bought mine... I drove 45 minutes to Winter Haven and paid $13k out the door. Definitely not the best deal I've heard of on here, but it was the best I could find in Florida.

Bought mine at cost, but got taken on $800.00 for set-up and delivery fee. Hate to admit that, but didn't know better at the time. Will never go back to that dealer anymore. I do love my bike enough to not make me sick though.

My girl and I had to drive down to Tennessee from NYC, round trip about 32 hours, to pickup my REP for $10,500 and her '07 1000cc for $9,000.
I heard of those dealer that charge setup fee Jacob. Its all a scam to squeeze the last cents out of you before letting you leave.

Yeah, set up is a joke. I saw mine in the crate and it was damn near ready to roll. Putting on the windscreen and mirrors and tightening the rearset bolts isn't worth half what they like to try and charge you. I was paying cash so I just called every dealer within about 100 miles and asked for a cash out the door price and took the best one I could find.

One reason I moved out of NYC. Of all the places I have lived, that miserable place charges more for everything, from gas to food. And you don't get much for the high cost of living, just a dirty grungy high crime place to live.

Yea i live in Ny and when i got my repsol in 06 before x-mas...i seen an 05 he wouldnt let it go past 13,000 and it had about 3000 miles on it. Thank god for ebay. Got my bike for 10500 with some mods and 345 miles. Even with shipping an extra $700 it came out cheaper than if i got it from a stealership around here.

Usually can't beat the midwest for bike prices. Our season is so small, and not very many people ride here, that you can get a great price.

Al Lamb's Honda has always been nuts about that.

Too funny - I purchased all three of my bikes from Al Lambs. Got screwed on my first bike ('98 900RR) 'cause I was young, dumb, and way too anxious to get a bike. Second time around ('01 929 RR) got a much better deal. This time around ('07 Repsol) got a smokin deal.

Planned to drive to Mississippi and buy one from Lake Hill Motors, but Al was willing to work squidracer and I a deal for two of 'em. And we saved the trip to Miss.

The internet has changed how bikes are bought and sold. Given ten minutes, someone can just on the internet and find out what other dealers/people are paying. Talk about a bargaining tool. I have a Suzuki/Triumph/Kawi dealer about 5 miles for my house and they ask MSRP for everything, plus fees as well. Needless to say, they usually have some hold over the next year.

I am more than happy to drive 3 hours to my old dealer. 3 Hours = $1300 Discount.

Well, since this post made it's way all the way to the top and was interpreted COMPLETELY different than I intended it to sound, I better clarify my statement.

When I say I got screwed on my first bike, I don't mean they forced me into a purchase, charged me extra for the bike, or anything along those lines. I simply mean I didn't get the best deal I could have. Sure, everyone went through that first time buying experience where they paid full retail, paid all the extra charges and fees associated with a purchase, so forth and so on.

That's what I meant when I said I got screwed. I was inexperienced, uneducated to the ways of the world, and didn't get the best deal I could have. I guess it really depends which side of the desk you look at it from before you can say whether or not I got screwed.

Keep reading my first post, you'll notice that I bought two more bikes from the same dealership!!!! And the deal got better each time...

I'm not going to go on some rant about how great Al Lambs is or isn't. I feel like the fact that I bought ALL THREE of my new bikes from the same dealership SHOULD speak for itself. For the record, I was actually sticking up for Al Lambs, though I see how the first sentence could make someone think otherwise.

Getting off my soapbox...

And to the third grade snitch that printed this post and took it to the man - please print this one and take it to the same place so we can all see what I really meant by my first post.

I didn't look to see where you're from diell11, but it would be worth a phone call or trip to the dealership. The price was indeed just lowered on the few remaining '07 Repsols.

No worries at all. I was just wondering because for what I hear they still charge set up and delivery. I've always had really good luck with Honda Town in Haltom City. No set up, no delivery, and since I drive from Plano everytime I buy a bike out there, he gives them to me for pretty close to invoice. At the end of the day, you said it brother, you were happy when you left. That's all that matters.

Thanks for the info. Got an 05, but doing research right now for the upcoming 08. So when you guys talked about Al Lamb's I was wondering if he had changed his ways. Tried getting my 05 from over there and was not treated even close to fair. I know there are a lot more 07s now but when the 05s came out it was horrible. $14k otd was what they said, and I had cash with me right there.

Looking forward to seeing you guys around. I'm in Plano.

Damn dude, no one asked for a copy of your W-2. Whats the harm in sharing what you paid for your bike?

Partly because he works for the dealership where we bought our bikes and might feel some pressure from the owner if he posts the deal we got on the bikes. Next thing you know, 6 people show up at the dealership wanting the same deal and the owner might not be real happy about it.

And as you can see from a few of my posts above, the owner was made aware of this thread.

That makes more sense. That being the case, why mention the great deal if you can't actualy talk about the great deal? :D

Basically we found a dealership (out of state) selling Repsols at a discounted price. We figured out what it would cost to travel out of town (time off work, gas, hotel, food, etc) We weighed our options like how much less tax we would pay if bought cheaper along with the cheaper price. We took that number to Al Lamb's and they worked with us. We actually ended up paying a little more than our number but it saved us from having to go out of town (pain in the a**). In the end we rode away happy without paying much more than the number we started with. I'm sure if you go in with a reasonable number they might be willing to work a deal. Just remember, like any business, they have to make some money. If shops sold everything for what they paid for it they would not exist. Shop smart but be realistic!
