Not GPS, its an MP3 player.

The thing by the speedo is a Digital Gear Indicator that shows what gear you are in.

What are you using to listen to the mp3's? I have seen some dumb looking helmet speakes and have heard some people use ear buds. I was just wondering because I like to listen when on a LONG trip out of town and the exhaust note (no matter how cool it sounds) can be boring.

I've been thinking about putting a gear indicator on mine... now that you have one, does it actually come in handy or is it more of a trinket?

And does it just stick on the side of the cluster with some sort of adhesive or is there a bracket behind it?

Speakers built into the ear pockets in the helmet.

It comes in handy, theres alot of time I shift into "7th" gear...

It mounts with double sided tape, or you can get a small billet housing that it goes into.

It comes with a plug in harness, no cutting wires.

Maybe the 08 1000RR will come with a gear indicator stock, like the Gixxers. Counting to six can be tough some times....:D That damn ellusive 7th gear doesn't alway want to work.

LOL - I live in the wonderful Metroplex (as we affectionately call it) of Dallas/Fort Worth, so I'm more busy just trying not to get run over than looking for cops. Though that is a close second priority...

And yes, I very frequently shift into "7th" gear. One can never be too sure with gas prices where they are! :D

The Bike just has so much pull that I want to baby the girl a little and keep the RpM'S low when not needed, so ya I do they old clutch check myself from time to time.....This just means I am so relaxed and having a good time that I am not counting gears at all, just leave the stress behind baby... That would be a good excuse for being speedy....Honestly officer I was just trying to get out of that guy's blind spot before he ran me over

I hear you, exspecially when going 70-75...I just keep thinking there should be one more gear

I like that gear indicator, but for me Kinda pricey.:( I'll just have to get used to it more and see...if not, maybe later this summer...

Where did you purchase these speakers built into the earpads of the helmet? Do you get decent sound out of them?
