Wow thanks for all the cool pics!!!! Any ideas on what the best material is for durability? titanium? Stainless? or Carbon Fiber? I have the full sato set up on a 2005 and it is way louder than i thought! I guess I was just used to it and then I heard some other set ups and realized how loud it was. I must be def now???? for durability my carbon exhaust had labels on it that if improperly fastened down vibration would cause the carbon to crack. if fingerprints were left on and not cleaned with rubbing alchohol they could cause the color to fade. if the exhaust is not repacked every 5,000miles the carbon will start to crack, etc. titanium i hear is a very good piece, stainless they say gets hotter so you will feel its warmth unless you use a cool-it type thermal layer between the pipe and the seats but i dont know that or not first hand. i had a highmount titanium pipe on my gixxer that thing barely got hot

True loud pipes can save lives....Sometimes it would not matter if you were driving a locomotive down the highway they still would not see you or hear you!!!! I have a 1975 dynaglide that was built by the guy who did hulk hogan's harley and it is fast... I still have it, bought it in 1990 but have not road it in almost 6 years , so this thing was very loud in a muscle car kind of sound and alot of drivers did not expect this... sometimes they just got really angry and acted like they were prurposely gonna run me over, or they were caught off gaurd and made a quick stupid decision like I had scared them:confused: So there is balance in there somewhere between attention getting and obnoxious, the sato system I have now is just so smooth and it does not have an abrupt decibel level but it sneaks up on you then it is loud;) ;) ;)

Our cars cant catch a bike so whats the point and if its just an infraction or even a misdemeanor forget about it, Besides god gave us helicopters for the felonies. Its insane to put so many people at risk, our wives and kids drive down the same streets and in the end thats all that should really matter;)

Yep I agree fully, I can't say that I have always used the best judgement when speeding, and I guess if I only got caught 3 times a year and just paid the fines while keeping my points just under loosing my license, then I guess no foul? I have to admitt at least once a weekend when I meet up with a few bikes cruising along and this turns into some cat and mouse chase well I end up part of the game, so craking the throttle to triple digits at least once when the group is on the move happens, but most often there is nobody in fornt or behind for a good 300 or 500 yards, when riding with my friends the rule most often (and at night) is that there can be no visible headlights behind us in or in front of us before the speed begins. This is a rare situation so it keeps the occurrence from happening to often, but those are my thoughts good , bad or indifferent:) Thanks for the reply:cool:

The way I look at it is what I do on my bike is my business, as long as I dont hurt anyone else. I always wanted to be a pilot but life just goes its own way and before you know it well you get old, married, kids and a job you have to stay with because you are responsible for others.
One of my friends retired at 50, we worked together for at least 15 years and he put so much into his work so many hours away from home too much overtime and for what a plaque on the wall. Kiss my ass, well anyway he retires and after 16 months drops dead on a tread mill at 24hr fittnes. LIVE NOW , Carpe Diem "seize the day"

Hey Mega, I love the look of the hotbodies but I heard many stories of the plastic melting underneath. Have you had that problem or any other problems with the hotbodies? thanks!
hondapowered
April 8th, 2007, 09:20 PM
Yikes now I have a problem wiht plastic melting:confused: I did not 2 months ago but on the left side vey bottom of lower air dam right thru the letter N in honda the decal has a faded black burn mark that is somewhat noticable the red color is faded to black in a horizontal line that follows very closely to the pipe on its way back to the under tail before it goes center up. I recently have hit some much higher speeds and rpm's and was feeling around on the bottom of my bike after a pass on the causeway looking for pieces of other riders tires that were burned pre race take off and bam my hand got damn near burned and I noticed the discoloration. That's my girl's first imperfection

I hope you don't have any problems with it cuz I definitely want that for my Repsol...soon as I get it:D You could paint it red just to be different but I'd definitely stick with the version you have as opposed to the euro....its so fresh and so clean clean!

Pictures of my exhaust. Micron Serpent Full System.
Notice the stock heat shield has been cut to the same contour as the tail section. Was too afraid of possible heat damage to remove it, and it was too ugly the way it was. Took 15 minutes to cut (while on the bike) with the tail section off. I used a tool that I got at a computer store that is used for cutting holes in the sides of PC cases for fans, etc.

Thanks guys. Im going to order the watsen lights next. They already come in repsol orange. also priced out the camera and monitor for my bike. the guy says 700 installed is that too much?
im going to have the monitor up front and the hidden mini camera facing backwards so i dont have to turn my head too much to view traffic. The only thing is placing the cam in a good spot so the heat from the pipe wont damage it.

Ive heard there have been a lot of melting issues with it. Also, the can or some part of the pipe gets rusty over time. IMO its a bad situation all around.
No power gains and incredibly loud.

Ive just heard lots of bad things about them on other pages. They have a
smaller muffler and heat builds up between the seat and that plastic cover
resulting in melted parts. For the same money I just bought an Arata and
love it, sound is awesome and it is the best peforming exhaust for these
bikes. I am the type that if Im going to spend that much I want performance
gains and good looks, not just looks.

So Yeah this is catching on in alot of places and countries. Im in Iraq right now and our Plt Comander lifed us for chasing after some dirt bikes in our 11000lb armored humvees. He told us how he was a cop with phoneix pd and they wouldnt chase bikes either, it never worked with cop cars on pavement so it wont work in the desert. But it was fun. And while im on the subject its suprising how many people have motorcycles here now. You never saw it last deployment.

Usually they have police in front and in back of the group but the last group that I happened to be in there were none back there. I hung back riding as slow as possible and it thinned up pretty good about the top of the corkscrew. I got to jam down turn eight all the way back to turn 2 where everyone was parked afraid to make the turn. There were guys along the pit wall motioning me to slow down as I came across the grandstands. Even pulled a little wheelie when coming out of turn 11 before hitting the straight. I came up on turn two pretty fast but took them all way out on the out side of the turn. :) It's funny how fast you can actually take these corners on the track because they are so wide. :)

Depends on what your lookin for. Its a good looking pipe with minimal power gains and pretty loud.
If you want power and looks, go for Arata, Akrapovic, Sato, and TaylorMade.
Again it is up to you and what you want. I would shop around and find the best combo of what
