hey fellas...
well after having my repsol for 2 weeks i managed to do over $10k worth of damage to it by laying it down in the name of self preservation (it was either that or be a ****in speed hump or become at one with a ****in Volvo
well managed to walk away without loosing a piece of bark off my body but also trashed every piece of gear i was wearing on the day....
(STFU with the bikes are replaceable comments... IT WAS MY ****IN REPSOL!!!!!!!)
well heading back for the track next weekend so had to get more gear..
got hold of flyinbrians deals on ebay & cut sick..
the prices on their alpinestars **** is the ****in bomb & managed to save me over $500au on just a pair of alpinestars boots & gloves...
very helpful & happy to discount...
those fellas rock

Repairing or replacing the Repsol? How hard is it going to be to get another one in Australia? Sorry for your loss. Glad to hear you are ok.

Damn dude, that SUX!!! I know the Repsol was your baby....I can only imagine.
I must say thank you for sharing your story. I think you managed to create some value out of the situation two-fold. For one, it reminds us of how good and important our gear is. And two, you found a great hook-up on gear and passed the info to us! I appreciate that and I'm sure the others do too.
Glad you're ok:)

Over $10,000 damage? Thats almost the price of the bike. I assume your insurance company totalled it.

Maybe you should push to write it off and offer to buy it back from the insurance company. You could get replacement cost $s and get the wreck for next to nothing. That would buy a lot of parts.
I bought a brand new CBR 600 once that was totaled for about $2000. The frame was bent, but most everything else was fine. It had been hit from behind. The rider didn't even drop it. I bought a new frame, fixed it up in my spare time and sold it for a tidy profit. It had 600 miles on it.
