Speedohealer Problems ?

Does anyone have any exp. with speedohealers. I installed one on my 09 Repsol and inputted the calculations at to per the online calculator. But my speedo is worst off then what it first was. And i cant get any tech support anywhere :confused2:

you most likely put it in as a positve percentage off... instead of a negative... the speedohealer is a bit tricky to program and kind of tough to keep track of where you are...

I think I was off like 11% or so... so I had to put in a -11.01 or something like that..

The on-line calculator said -2.5 so that's what i input. But now i am doing double what my speedo indicates

is this the V4 speedo healer? Was your spedometer originally fast... I'm assuming it was... and I'm going to guess that you did something wrong with the calculation because that would have only been off by like 2mph.. so why get a speedo healer.... give me an example of what speed you were traveling and what your actual speed is.... did you use a gps to track it... another car?

Also when you enter it you have you enter all decimal places... I think it asks for 4 digits I would have to check again... but if you put in just 25 instead of 02.50 it would have changed it severely... as well as accidentally putting in a positive would throw your speed much higher than it really is....

My speedo is in kph, first my speed was off by around 10 kph off too fast.
So if i was doing 130 kph i was really doing 140 kph. If i was doing 60 kph i was doing about 68 kph.

The only reason i knew it was off, is i was riding with my friends on the highway at 140 kph and when we stopped they said what the hell were you doing 150 kph on the 401 !!! Meaning that here in the great Ont.:rolleyes: anything over 50 kph you can get a $2000 fine and your vehicle takin away for 7 days... LOL

And i`am pretty sure the LED display reads -2.5 %

ok.... so your spedometer says 130... but in reality you are doing 140... that means your speedometer is actually slow... the correct calibration would be

+7.7% not -2.5%

Be careful - probably not.

If he's already got the calibrator set to some correction percentage, the same simple division to get a percentage won't work. The division problem would have to take into account the plus or minus percentage the speedo is seeing from the calibrator.

There are two sure-fire ways to get the speedo correct:

1. You need to set the calibrator back to zero and find a hand-held GPS. Have a passenger hold onto the GPS or mount it somewhere sturdy on the bike so you can see it. Get on the road and get up to speed on the bike. Then it's a simple division problem using the number on the speedo vs the actual speed the GPS tells you. Than take that percentage and input it into the calibrator.

2. Set the calibrator back to zero and find a road with mile markers. Stop at a mile marker (somewhere safe of course) and set your tripmeter to zero. Ride like 5 or 10 miles, using the mile markers as your reference. Stop at a mile marker and jot down the mileage on your tripmeter. Again, then it's a simple division problem with the actual distance you traveled (distance between mile markers) and the distance on your tripmeter. This method is only as correct as the mile markers. Hopefully they were placed pretty much one mile spart.

For both methods, accuracy increases as the numbers increase. In other words, the faster you go, the more accurate the calculation; or the farther you travel, the more accurate the calculation.

this is true.... i was assuming the numbers he gave me were before he put the speedo healer on... i used the online calculator to check that, to the the 7.7 percent.... mine ended up being 11.1 percent off and once i calabrated it , it was dead nuts on.... the speedo healer has settings for up to like 26 different settings... i used a car and gps to check mine.. i only used the speedo, not the mile markers.... but that would work too

the numbers i gave you were before i put the speeohealer on meaning i was 10kph to fast, but now since i have put it on and set it to -2.5% like the on-line calculator said i`am doing double what my speedo says

its just programmed wrong... did you get the instructions for programming it that came with it. if not i think I have them lying around. Just reprogram it to the numbers given and let us know what happens.
