View Full Version : "Mod of the Month" Contest
Big Kahuna
April 27th, 2007, 11:28 AM
So, since I've heard so many times how this site is different than all the rest, we are going to take it up a notch. Although many other forums host a "bike of the month" contest, we are going to do "Mod of the Month" contest instead. That's right, rather than getting your bike celebrated only once, you'll have the opportunity to have it's bits celebrated over and over again.
Winners will get their bike and mod showcased on he front page for the entire month, and maybe some treats from the one of the sites sponsors ii I can get them on board (hint). :)
So what do you think? Should the owners who do the mods be able to nominated themselves, or should all nominations be from other members? Let's rap about it for a few days and maybe start it up next month!

I think it should be open to nominate yourself or be nominated.
I'm sure there will be people with certain mods that are not known by the forum. I wouldn't have a clue how to go about nominating someone else's bike on here other than what I might have stumbled upon.

that's a good point.
i think that the best way to nominate a bike or a member.....member got to show a picture of the bike and the member on it as well along with mods on bike.
if members vote for themselves...than perhaps there will be more than few on the lists....which would make it a little more difficult.

i wanted to say something for the past few days. i have being on other forums and noticed that there aren't many members on this forum, probably due to the amout of bikes made of replicas....which in a way makes it...unique. there is not lot of volgar people or members really getting out of hand...i for what its worth...apreciate that. i tend to come to this forum more often....at leas just to read and see new things.
To compare it to other forums that i have seen, where some members really abuse other members or just when young people get their words across the forum...some times is not greatly apreciated.
i like this forum very much....i think that some members can really get their ideas, new things across the board...and opinions and experts can really get involve on some really interesting topics.
i like it alot...... keep riding guys.

Seriously, I like the fact that this is a small focused forum. I got a lot of flack from some members of other forums but I thought it would be cool to get the other owners of these bikes together in one place. It seems most owners know these bikes are special despite what others may believe. It's a passion and one that is not taken too lightly. I couldn't afford a Repsol when they first came out back in '05, but I didn't give up. I waiting until the time was right and finally brought home the bike that I have drooled over for so long.
Thanks Tony, it's comments like yours that makes it all worth the effort. :)

I wouldn't have a clue how to go about nominating someone else's bike on here other than what I might have stumbled upon.I'm sure I'm probably on the forum more than anyone else, but I can already think of a few dozen mods that I've seen in the past months that I'd nominate for the contest.
Remember, we are only looking at individual mods not the bike as a whole. So, the same bike could be featured a few times throughout the year. I would like to spotlight each specific mod as opposed to the member or bike.
I think mods that have been posted with pictures and the most details would be the ones that more people would nominate. So it would be up the the member to make sure he gets his mod known. :)
Me, I'm a picture whore so that wouldn't be a problem, but I'd have no problem with helping out those who may not know all the ins and outs of the forum software. That way they would also have a good chance at winning the mod of the month.

All those mods are super sick. I like how they are things you'd have to look closely at as opposed to some really 'loud' and distracting mods.....its all in the subtle details, and overall maintains the integrity of the Repsol styling. very nice!

attention to detail is the name of the game... super bling takes away from it being a repsol.. and just like everyone elses bike ... its the mods you cant see without REALLY REALLY looking ... or behind the scenes that really make this bike what she is ... a BITCH !!! .. thats her name btw... cause she pulls like a freight train bitch all the way

works with any caliper...
its designed for after market rims... will work with stockers... but you have to mill the rim .. reducing integrity of it

guys, guys !!! i wonder how much mula you guys have spent on these great bikes.??? i look at my bike......say. does not need anything. i only spent $249 for a jardine slip on just to make it sound nice.....oooh and a power commander $245.....the bikes runs very good.
i was looking on some of your wheels, brake lines, swing arm mods, rotors....man !!! the list goes on. i wish i could spent some money on the bike....but what about safety gear.??
