My 30th birthday is coming up, July 20th. My 7th wedding anniversary is coming up May 20th. The wife wants to buy me toys for the Repsol for each occassion. I'm looking to spend $200 or so on the anniversary present and there's not really a set limit on the birthday, though I don't want to go wild.
I could combine several "cheaper" items for the birthday, or buy one expensive item. But the anniversary needs to stay at $200 or at least close.
Here are the ideas I'm toying with:
--Integrated brake light + fender eliminator ($149 + $100)
Motodiablo taillight (http://www.motodiablo.com/onlinestore/honda/cbr1000rr/cbr1000rr-ufo.html)
--Lo-jack + alarm (not so much of a cool factor, but probably a wise investment) ($580 + $300)
--Exhaust + power commander - probably Akro, but not sure on that one yet. ($???) This one is dangerously close to being eliminated from the list due to high cost.
--Rear footpeg blinkers + G-craft rear reservoir ($47 + $~100)
--Corbin seats ($500)
Other parts I've considered, but decided not to put on the list: carbon fiber replacement pieces for the black plastic pieces (too expensive for what you get), smoked windscreen (too cheap for the occasion), wheels (way too damn expensive).
Feel free to add something if you think it's in the right price range... :D

I went to a bike show and bought a led kit made by varad.
Cost was $150. i seen some other ones that were $85 but you get what you pay for.even though they gave you alot more lights they couldnt do what my kit does.
my kit comes with 4 lights only but where twice as bright.
can adjust brightness.
can change flash patterns.\best thing is it comes in orange.
everyone loves my bike when i roll up now.
P.s. was very e.z. to install
all you need are the following things.
#1 6 pack of coronas
#2 tie strips
#3 some black tape
#4 the allen key for fairings.
im about to get another kit so i can have 8 lights.
i placed them in my 2 front vents under the head lights and inside the left and right fairings.
i want to add 2 in my back vents and inside my rair cowell.
and maybe somewhere on the bottom of the bike and rear tire.
nice place also would be behind the front wheel inside that lil vent at the bottom of radiator.
ill post picks when i get a camera.

Hey man I'm 29 too. My b-day aint til feb though. Thats cool your wife supports your riding! Anyway, I would definitely go with the lo-jack, even if its just that and no alarm. It seems to be the best system to protect your bike, and think of it this way.....what if you do all those other mods first and it gets stolen? the thief just got away with that much more. At least with lo-jack the chances are you will have a bike to mod when you get the dough!
Another option may be to get the lo-jack but use the money you wouldve spent on an alarm and get one or more of the cheaper mods too. foot peg blinkers and/or smoke screen.:)

if you want to really stay withing that range of money....perhaps a slip on from jardine...sounds very good and very simple to install. if you go with aluminun...it runs about $240.....and there is not much work to do.
what about safety gear.....a new helmet.....???? perhaps a cowl seat...less than $160....how about matching helmets for you and your wife.???...i bet she would like that.

I like your logic - it's what I've been thinking, but that little devil on my left shoulder's been whispering in my ear...

You call me lucky, but I say you're the lucky one!

Great suggestion, but I've already got one. Ebay for $137 at Yamaha of Troy.

Trick is, I don't just want the exhaust for the sound - my main desire with exhaust is the extra power. And by doing exhaust for extra power, one must go all the way and get the full system, in my opinion. We'll see though, squidracers Akro sure sounds good...

Check, check. Got a new helmet a few weeks ago. Posted it in the Repsol helmet thread. The wife got a new helmet last year - a very nice Arai.

Great idea - but I've already got a front and rear stand. :D

See reply above in this post. And thanks...
This has got to be some sort of world record for the most quotes in one post!

OK, I think I've just about made up my mind. For today anyways...
Anniversary present: Motodiablo tail light + Competition Werks FE.
Big 3-0 Birthday present: LoJack and rear footpeg blinkers + G-Craft reservoir.
I can't stand all the hangy-down license plate brackets and blinkers on the rear of this bike. The above mods will completely change the appearance and the LoJack will help guarantee that I get to enjoy this bike (and mod it) for many more years to come...
I'd really like to do exhaust, but I'm a complete over-achiever so that would mean a full system, power commander, and filters. That's just too much punch to the checkbook right now. Plus the LoJack just makes sense...
THANKS for the suggestions everyone! And keep 'em coming, I can always be persuaded!
