Ok the whole Duhan jacket thread made me wanna ask if anyone here could recommend or has used and could comment on mesh jackets...best brands, quality, price etc...

I live in Los Angeles and while I will wear my heavy jacket no matter how hot it is for safety, if there is a good mesh one someone can vouch for I may give it a go. Summer's coming and it gets HOT.

p.s. I know its no where near as hot as Texas or some other states, I admit, I'm a pampered Californian. Still, it can reach the 100's so the more comfortable the better. Thanks in advance!!!:D

I own an ICON Ti-max mesh jacket from a couple years ago. Its pretty nice. Has a removeable liner inside for colder weather and plenty of vents and pockets to stay cool and carry stuff, gum, phone, ect. Also has padding on the shoulders, elbows and back. A couple of my buddies have them too, they are pretty nice.

I have a first generation AGV Sport mesh jacket that was put to the test a few years ago when I was side swiped by a mini van.

It only had a few scratches and I still wear it to this day.

the mesh jacket or textiles......i just dont bother with them. i have seen some of my friends with those kind of jackets.....in my opinion and with past experiences, they dont protect much if you go down.

i prefered to spend the 100+ extra to get a leather jacket or pants....that is worth your skin.

but like i said......in my opinion.

I've worn two Joe Rockets and currently have a Fieldsheer. My wife is on her second Fieldsheer.

Luckily, neither of us have ever tested the jackets, but I have friends that have been down with mesh jackets and all of their jackets did the job they were intended to do (protect from road rash).

I've been using the Joe Rocket Phoenix for 6 years or so now. Went down 4 or 5 years ago when a truck turned in front of me. Saved me from rash, but then again I didn't slide much. Landed on my head and shoulder and came to a pretty abrupt stop on the asphalt. Cracked the helmet. Thank God I wear gear!

i've had several of the rocket pheonix and they're great. i have the white HRC mesh like this one ... it goes great with the repsol.

i got a couple of shoei patches and added them to the sleeves under the honda patch. also added a couple of repsol patches to the front over the honda. it looks great.

the white jacket will show dirt however.
