i would love to put a set of HIDs on the repsol but didn't wanna spend all the money right now. i was looking around ebay tonite and saw complete conversion kits for around $70. i am a firm believer of you get what you pay for but...... anyone have any experience with these under $100 kits? thanks!

No experience with the cheaper kits but I'm using the 169$ from xenon rider! He uses golden eye kits with Phillips bulbs! Love them got
the slim balasts and all!

I'd go with rsxs is saying! :)

I have only ever done an HID conversion to my Civic...H1's, (the balast's were fun as hell...NOT much bigger than for a bike)) and a pain in the arse. We siliconed the housing for days, and she still managed to leak ! I had some serious apprehension about doing that to my baby...Repsol that is ;)...that's just plain mean lol...

Three things in life to live by:

Nothing in life is free
Sounds to good to be true... It usually is
You get what you pay for
Go with the Xenon Rider kit. Joe is a good guy and stand behind his products and spend the extra couple of bucks for a HID delay from Tripage (Tristan).

With that set up you wont be dissapointed. The HID's were probably one of the best mods I have done (next to the clear clutch cover).

I've bought 2 sets of HID's for the Repsol and 1 set for my old bike and they all came from ebay. I would not be afraid to buy from them as long as you read there feedback and see that they have a good reputation. You should be able to pick up a nice set for around $100 easily. I can't find who I bought mine from right now but can look 'em up if needed.

I bought some on ebay before the slim balast was a real option - then I went back later and bought just one slim balast and swaped it out. Nearly all of these things are made in the same place and then get different stickers put on him imo. All of the e-bay lights I bought have been working fine for the past 2 years.

That's what happens when you get a woman to do a real mans job!

Xenon Rider kit is the way to go! They aren't really overly that much more than the cheap Ebay kits but atleast you know what your getting! Something that works! Spend that little bit more or not at all I say!

I got mine from Xeon rider with slim ballasts, first time around the color of the bulbs didnt match so he replaced been great since. I did however just notice that if you google motorcyle HIDs or xeon motorcycle you can find a place with long wires so you dont have fit the ballasts etc up front, it would be much better in the tail. IMHO:)

On a side note, I think people who put these HID lights in their SUV's should have their ass removed.

I get blinded by these things all the time, especially when they whip in behind you and you get hit from both your rearview mirror and your sideview mirror.

Hate those things. I am going to install high beams in my back window and when someone pulls in behind me, I am going to have those 3 million candlepower lights to turn on back in their face.

I just realised that the coolest thing in the world would be seeing Matt stun the d!ckhead behind him with 3 million candlepower.

I have this mental image of some guy doing an instantaneous contortion of their face, squinting and becoming completely blinded by it.

Cheers Matt, you really have made my day!

Heh, no problem Scott.

I am in Florida right now with my family, and I am going to the Turkey Rod Run on Friday in Daytona, and make no mistake...I will be looking for those to put in my car.

Not kidding. My brother will help me install them in my car. I am hoping to have it for the drive back to PA....will make it more fun.

You know, if you stun the guy behind you with your headlights, you've probably just shifted the earth off it's rotating axis... :p

I have a truck now. I am going to put a row of lights on a roll bar thing in the bed, and have 5 3 million candlewatt lights, all pointing backwards.

Good times.
