Hey all I am new to this site just wanted to say Hi and post up a pick of my new Bike. This is the first liter bike I have ever owned, I just bought it today, its beautiful and man does it haul a**. Its number 00036...well at least that is the last 5 numbers in the VIN.

I have a couple of questions for you guys about the setup.

How did you guys install your decals/stickers for those that did them themselvs, I saw something about using a water and dawn dish soap mixture and then positioning the decals where you want and then using a squeege to get all the water out does this work and what kind of squeege did you use and where did you get it? It seems all the shower/bath ones i have seen are to big to really do a good job.

Also I was wondering how you went about mesuring the distances between the sitckers I don't want to end up scratching the paint with a ruler or a tape mesure so I was thinking of using one of those waist mesurement things but they still have the little metal peice at the end, just wondering what you guys used?

In the dealer setup instructions It gives no mesurements for the Repsol sticker, michelin men, or the red showa decals does anyone have mesurments for these or did you just eyeball them based on Honda advertizing photos?

Does the Repsol sitcker that goes upside down on the tank interfere with where the Hayden commemoritive decal is supposed to go?

Are they still sending out the Nicky Hayden World Championship commemorative decals when the vehicle warranty registration is submitted (I know replica commemorative decals are avalible for purchase just was wondering about the official ones form Honda)?

Also 2 showa decals go on the front forks...except I have three of them just wondering if anyone knows where the third one goes?

Sorry for all the nitpickey questions, just want to say thank you in advance, and if anyone has any more little tips, tricks, or mod ideas for the REPSOL post them up.

Oh yea one more thing, one of my little reflector screws/wignuts use to hold on the license plate was julted loose today, does anyone no if those are readly avalible at the Honda dealer or if they have a part number for something that minute?

this should answer the sticker problems.

Just cut the tab off the tape measure and start at the one inch mark.

OK - I'll do my best to answer most of your questions.

Hey all I am new to this site just wanted to say Hi and post up a pick of my new Bike. This is the first liter bike I have ever owned, I just bought it today, its beautiful and man does it haul a**. Its number 00036...well at least that is the last 5 numbers in the VIN.

First off - welcome to the site! And nice bike, BTW.

How did you guys install your decals/stickers for those that did them themselves, I saw something about using a water and dawn dish soap mixture

I personally did not use any soap/water mixture. When I placed a decal and needed to slightly adjust the location, I just gently pulled it back off. I went very, very slow and made sure the decal was perfect before I stuck down more than 1/4 of the decal so I could easily peel it back off it needed. Once it's down all the way, it's not coming back off very easily (dry, that is).

Also I was wondering how you went about measuring the distances between the stickers

First, I have a flimsy plastic ruler laying around that I used to a lot of the measurements. I converted everything from metric (mm) to inches so I could use my ruler.

Second, look at the measurements in the instructions (see link above) - you'll notice that most of the decals that are close together are spaced roughly 25mm apart. Well, 25mm is almost exactly 1 inch. Rather conveniently, a roll of blue painters tape is 1 inch wide. I placed the first decal and then laid a strip of blue painters tape next to it, allowing me to precisely place the next decal exactly parallel and 25mm from the first.

If you're anywhere near as picky as me, do yourself a favor and take your time. I pulled the fairings off the bike and brought everything inside, cleaned the plastic thoroughly, and painstakingly placed the decals. Don't take shortcuts - if the instructions show a decal placed slightly over a bolt hole and trimmed accordingly, take the extra two minutes to trim the decal and place it in the correct location. I look at other Repsols and can immediately tell when someone didn't place them exactly per the instructions. But I am a bit of a perfectionist, to say the least.

In the dealer setup instructions It gives no measurements for the Repsol sticker, michelin men, or the red showa decals does anyone have measurments for these or did you just eyeball them based on Honda advertising photos?

Eyeballed them based on the instructions in the link posted above this reply.

Does the Repsol sticker that goes upside down on the tank interfere with where the Hayden commemoritive decal is supposed to go?

They fit with no problem - browse the 2007 Gallery here on the site and you should be able to find a member with both tank decals installed. I just received my duplicate decals from TopTaz (didn't want to use the originals, so I bought an extra set from TopTaz to use on the bike) but haven't installed them yet.

Are they still sending out the Nicky Hayden World Championship commemorative decals when the vehicle warranty registration is submitted (I know replica commemorative decals are available for purchase just was wondering about the official ones form Honda)?

I read somewhere that there was a limited number of the commemorative decals available from Honda and not all Repsol owners would receive a set. Can't vouch for this though. My decals arrive 4-6 weeks after I purchased my bike. But again, I didn't use them on the bike - I want to save them, plus the orange on the signature decal doesn't exactly match the orange tank. TopTaz's decals have a clear background, so no worries about the two oranges not matching.

Also 2 showa decals go on the front forks...except I have three of them just wondering if anyone knows where the third one goes?

One on each fork and one on the rear shock. I placed them where I thought they looked best because there were no photos with the decal setup instructions.

Sorry for all the nitpickey questions, just want to say thank you in advance, and if anyone has any more little tips, tricks, or mod ideas for the REPSOL post them up.

No problem - just spend some time searching the site and you'll see a lot of mods people have performed. Most on here are cosmetic, but good none-the-less.

Oh yea one more thing, one of my little reflector screws/wingnuts use to hold on the license plate was julted loose today

See my response in your thread on this topic.

This should count for like 10 posts!

Man, you're going to have to stop making multiple threads on the same topic.

Ask a question in one thread, and one thread only.

I just spent quite a bit of time answering all the questions in this thread that CB just did in another thread.

Not trying to be a *****, just saying...
