well i decided to take monday off & head to the track to cut a few laps...
anything was better than working
so put a brand new set of pilot race on the R6 track bike & off i go..

by the 3rd session of the day i was putting down some ****in hot laps feeling really good...

4th session awesome...

5th session... 11 laps in & i feel the brakes starting to fade.. i adjusted for it & was braking a bit earlier... still putting down some hot paced laps...
came down to the final turn up the inside of a ZX6 thru the gears on the brakes hard (turn 7 is the 2nd hardest braking corner in australia) to discover my front brakes had faded into non existance,
decided if i didnt try to take the corner it was gunna hurt so committed 110% to the 90 degree right hander.. cooked in at about 170kmh.. slightly uphill.. then flattens out..
body off the bike.. knee down.. hit the apex.. i might be ok... back end slides.. i regain it.. slides again & welcome to highside city.. fukka threw me off & into the sand at about 160kmh
a few rolls & cartwheels thru the sand hoping the bike wont land on me & i stop... **** i am still alive .. shake my head stand up.. & drop back on my knees like a sack of ****...
couple of busted ribs & a busted race bike...
not too bad considering it could have been a lot worse..
now the HH is out of action for 4-6 weeks while these damn bones heel
so stand by for some extreme post whoring for the next few weeks

Hate to hear that you went down...

Though it sounds a bit callous to curse the guys that are saving your life.

I recently broke three ribs and a collarbone, resulting in a punctured lung. God knows I cursed the world when that doctor was prying my ribs apart to stick in the chest tube, but I sure wouldn't curse the doc himself as he was working to save my ass.

Just my 02 cents.

you guys need to come down to aussie & get a sence of humour...down here we take the piss out of everyone...
i was laying in a hospital bed asking the doc if she would wheel me outside so i could have a smoke
dont think everything we say is callous 99% of the time its a humourous statement

That's the problem with written communication... almost impossible to convey sarcasm. Unless you slap in some smileys! :D:p:evilgrin:

Oh so true!! Fortunately I am so profoundly intelligent that the subtle nuances of written communication that you lesser humans find so difficult to cope with do not affect me in the least.

Oyyyy....now that's good sarcasm!!!

well after spending my day being put thru more tests they have confirmed at the ripe old age of 35 i have now suffered my 2nd heart attack...

been told yet again to quit smoking & change my diet & to take it as a serious warning that worse wil follow if i am not careful

the heart doc & myself spent most of the testing process talking about what causes me to want to ride fast on the roads & insanely fast on the track..
but at 50 he is now ready to get his 1st bike.. but according to him... he "doesnt think he is as ****in insane as me so he wants a cruiser.. not a crotch rocket" hahahhhaa
was quite funny he was more interested in talking bikes & what possesses me to race than worrying about the results.. he was telling me what he saw as he saw it & was showing me on his computer screen....
was nice not to be kept in the dark for once... usually they wont tell you anything over here & leave it to your own GP to tell you whats going on...
glad i dont have to wait to hear the crap from my gp

HH (who is still alive & kicking & itching to ride again)

Geez man - you Aussie's must really live it up over there!

In all seriousness - I hate to hear that things aren't going so great with the ol' ticker.

Be wise and heed some of the doc's warnings. I've got an uncle that was just given 2-3 months to live because he never listened to the doctors. Kept drinking and smoking and doing whatever else he felt like - has had 4 heart attacks in the last 5 months... the last one put him one foot in the grave.

Get well soon man.

No but really you need to get your cardio exercise, Please because there are alot of fun things to do and not enough time:D

well yesterday i made it back to the track for my 1st serious hitout since this crash...

lap times have taken a hiding... came off the 1st session with times starting at 20secs a lap slower than i crashed & got them down to 10 secs less in the 1st ssession, was very dispondant & had a good hard think about what i was doing.. made a few minor adjustments & went out again..

2nd session well i started to feel a little better... slowest lap time for the session was my fastest lap time from session one (& that was the 1st flying lap i made) came back off feeling better
still had not tapped my knee down for the day & figured i prob shouldnt be even considering riding that hard seeing as it was my 1st time back

3rd session
everything clicked... i was grinning in my helmet for the 1st time all day... all those guys that were flying poast me in the prevoious sessions were dealt a huge serving of STFU as i showed them the old dog still had it in him

4th session.. i was starting to get tired (sooo unfit i have lost all my fitness) but was still happy.. mate with the timing beacon out had crashed out so wasnt getting any timing from here in

5th session.. stated making more mistakes decided to call it quits for the day as i didnt want to end up in the sand again

over all... not a bad day.. ended the day 7 secs of my previous times so cant really complain too much..

roll on the next trackday at the end of the month

here are a few pics from the 3rd session of me showing the 1K machines how embarrasing it is to be pwned by a 600

Hey, 7 secs off your original not bad. After I sit on my butt for 6 months waiting for the weather to get warm I will be lucky to hit 20 secs.

Nice pics..

Hoon, glad to hear your ok. I got into an accident after I test rode a buddies bike that I was going to buy in 92, however when he had to take me back to his dads engine shop on the back of his bike to settle the deal we had a wreck. well long story short we went out of control in some corner and went up on the curb and hit a high voltage box head on. I went flying thru the air like superman and landed. I broke my leg just below my hip and broke my colar bone. they had to take out so much muscle that i had to be put in a wheel chair for a mounth doing therapy and then had to leard to walk again after they got me out of the wheelchair. well just to let you know that after i learned to walk again and a month after i was released from the military hospital I went to my local Honda dealership and purchased a new honda cbr 600 f2. So hang in there and you will be back on your bike soon.

He didn't just crash again...he added to his crash thread about his return to the track...

Glad to hear you had a triumphant return to the track...I also returned to the track that I crashed at last year and conquered the beast...that always feels good.

Don't pay so much attention to your lap times...instead just enjoying the riding...track days are for fun, not for stuffing 1000s into your tailpipe...:D

Overcoming the mental part is the biggest hurdle after coming back from a crash...the body seems to always be ready for more abuse, but the mind plays games with you.

I'm done tracking for this year, but I am looking forward to 2008 and trying some new tracks...road trip?
