Greetings,

Im coming from 1000rr.net via TommyTom69's referral.
I noticed that there are a few Nor Cal Repsol riders here....Hope to meet up with ya someday.
I took part in the Repsol gathering at Laguna this year, and had a blast checking out the other bikes.

Ah yes, I saw all those Repsol 1000rr's in the Repsol area last year. That was back when I was just dreaming of owning one.

So what was up with that? Did they let anyone in there with a Repsol or only a lucky few? I know Repsol Robert got to take a lap around the track, how did he get that?

Oh, and welcome aboard! :)

The event at El Torito's on Cannery Row was open to all Repsol riders.
I talked with Repsol Robert about parking my bike at the Hospitality tent and he said that would be ok.
But when I got to the entry gate, those bozos didnt know what I was talking about.
Regardless, I had my buddy with me and I didnt want to leave him parked alone in the vast sea of bikes.
I got pics of that crazy ocean of motorcycles. I still can't believe I left my "baby" parked in that dusty lot.

I was thinking about not going to Laguna this year, but buying the Repsol and Nicky winning the championship has sparked a new interest.

I've been going to Laguna for the past nine years now. I am definitely going to Sears Point this year as I have yet to see the motorcycle races there.

I would love to get together with all the Repsol owners at Laguna.

I took the same buddy from Laguna to the races at Infineon(Sears).
That weekend was great...no large crowds on the first day. We thought, for sure there was going to be alot of people on the second day....we were surprised to see that the crowd wasnt that much larger.
They had built in seating and no gouging on parking and seating areas.
One price got ya in and parked.
None of this...premium parking or seating like Laguna.

Laguna on the other hand is a totally different story. The heat this past year was something else...I grew up in that area and am familiar with the heat that gets trapped in that valley area, but OMG...that has been the hottest Ive ever experienced.
Like I said, thank God for Repsol Robert and his generosity...or else I may have gone home and watched the race via Speed Channel.

All and all, it was a great weekend. I didnt have to pay the overpriced hotel fees...thanks to my Dad and brother still living in the area.
I told my brother if he were smart, he should kick the wife and kids out of the house for the weekend and rent out sleeping space/showers.
I heard people were even willing to rent out lawn space to pitch a tent. LOL

Yeah, I've been hitting the races at Laguna for nearly a decade now and last year was the hottest ever. I pretty much just went to the track for the races, and then we back to the hotel to cool off with a cold brew. The best thing about our hotel was the micro-brewery down stairs had the best hefeweizen ever. :) My buddy even say Dani Padrosa in the elevator once. :D

I lucked out and grabbed a paddock parking pass from a friend who decided not to ride this year. It was a dream come true, riding all the way through the checkpoints and arriving on the smooth flat tarmac next to the paddock.

I might splurge on the parking pass once the tickets go on sale.
But I might hold off on the actual entry pass....I was finding deals on local forums up until the weekend of the races.

i had thought about flying out to see the race this year, but once i got past the parking price, admission ticket price, and the grandstand price, i didnt even bother to look into airfare, hotels, and rental car
