Wow, check this thing out! Found on "another" forum, but this guy has put a lot of work into his bike. I think he's added a lot of unique features that really makes this bike one of a kind. Of course, he's taken a beating over there by a lot of their forum regulars, but you can't dispute that he's done a lot of nice work to the bike.Well after some long hours I got her done. Thanks to Brad and Mary for the parts as always. I modified greatly the rear end and the tank graphics. Also got the wheels striped. Got some amazing feedback so far..........hope you guys like it!! Shes a little dirty from todays riding. If you guys are wondering where the idea came from for the extra wing on the tank well Honda has 4 wings in its logo not 3 and during tryouts in 2006 Nicky's bike had this done to it but he never had it on the race bike, only during practice sessions.

I'll go first.

There are parts I like, and parts I don't. Overall, the graphics seems like it could get too "loud". The "REPSOL" on the wheels is totally cheesy. Don't like the bar-end mirrors, but love the way it cleaned up the upper fairing.

We finally get a bike without the gaudy silencer on the side and he promptly takes it back to the stone ages with 2 cans...

Could go on.... but I won't.

Oh man I do love the wheels. I think thats the main thing that i like about the bike. All the other stuff tends to get a little to bright but i still like it.

I have to agree with you. The Repsol on the rims is cheesy, I mean, just how many times do you need the word "Repsol" on the damn bike anyway? The seat is a bit cheesy as well.

I think I could like it (the wheel decal) if the "REPSOL" on the wheels were considerable smaller and more discreet. Almost like you have to look close before you see it. Like on the rim lip or something...

Ohh NO he is way addicted to rep'ing the name WHOLY SMOKES the overall look of the orange is getting washed out not accented. The windscreen is nicely done! I don't think I have seen an 05 with the "07 look of the spreading decal on the nose, that I like. I am not sure GOLD as a color has any place on a race bike or race replica bike ???? hmmm serious cash spent. I myself would have stayed with a more simple cosmetic look but used the $$$$$$ to get the heads done, better valves, bigger cam, timming / electrical, and an air shifter done.... wanna go fast, YES SIR>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

Ha I just noticed are the mesh vents in the cowlings supposed to make the number "1" .... that was a cool idea.....

I seen the repsol on the lip of the rim before and was thinking of doing that. It didnt look overdone at all.

I'll probably end up getting them now

Nice bike. I agree the bar end mirrors dont help much when your passing car in traffic, espically when they fly off and your behind the guy.
I like the 2 tone rear seat cowl, looks pretty...

With all the lights he put on it and everything it just reminds me a a hyubusa rider, all show and no go. He probably just rides it around town to the store and never touches the twistys. He never should have ruined a repsol, But thats my view, save all that for another bike.

And while were talking about mods and his exhaust, does anyone know who makes a good sounding quality moto gp style exhaust.

***Hey I put lights on mine and I do fine on the twistys.***

***I have been seeing a lot Akropovic full titanium racing system on track bikes down by my parts, pretty penny.

I ordered a set of those. Screwed up a couple on the front so I went ahead and ordered their HRC rim lip decals too. Just put them on today.

And my 2 cents on the "tribute" bike... It is a bit over done IMO. There are some nice pieces and additions to it that work well and others that are too much. The exhaust is way over board. It is a nice bike though. Anyone figure out where the hugger came from yet??

Well, does this make you feel any better?

Mike's buddy says it will be no problem to fix, he's done it many times in the past. :D

I guess "no problem to fix" doesn't necessarily mean non-invasive or simple...

So what's that status? I think I read in another thread that your were just waiting for enough free time to go pick her up?

Yeah, he did a great job fixing the damaged case, but the last test ride exposed a rattle in third gear. Took it apart to find out that the bearings on the third gear are blown. I must have been in third gear when the chain went and the damage happened when the tranny lost all that tension from chain. :(

At least we found the problem before I got it home and had to bring it back. Parts are on order and I hope to have the bike back soon.

Get that bike ready for Laguna Kahuna...hey that will be your name at the MotoGP this year! LAGUNA KAHUNA!!!

I think the guy's bike you posted is a personally pleasing work of art and I support anybody who spends huge bucks to modify their baby... one man's chees is another man's dream come true, so more power to him.

I hope to have mine back in top condition for Laguna, but time and money are short this year...but I'll be there...you can count on it.

OMG that made me barf>>>>>>>>>>>>:scared: I dont ever wanna see that again unless when the project is done the motor is producing like 200+ HP and the transmissin is getting an upgrade to barnett or baker , possible racing tranny and new gear ratios.....WOW that is insaine :confused2: I am glad that you still have the YELLOW hornet to tool around on and keep your attention away from that.....OHH like the heart was ripped out and left on the OR table>>>>>>>>>> That reminds me does anybody have an opion on the 2005 ANV GSXR 750???? Sorry to side bar here but my friend needs cash for a new house and I need something to ride while my girl is down waiting for parts. I can get the bike cheap and once the REPSOL is back to glory I could sell the GSXR for some nice profit $$$$, My condolences to you MR BK :eek::eek:
