Enjoyed WSBK from this past weekend... gonna be a dogfight in that series...I wonder if Haga can finally make it happen.

For MotoGP, Ben will have a tough first year... and while I hope Nicky gets things dialed in at Ducati, I think Vale is gonna be the man to beat...as usual.

Dovi is comin' along and Pedrosa will have his usual win or two, but I'm really interested in seein' what happens in Moto2 as well.

I am aware of a US based company building a Moto2 chassis as a stealth project and can't wait to see if they can succeed with their revolutionary design. The motors are spec Honda 600, so it really will come down to chassis, suspension and rider in Moto2.

MotoGP is headin' in that direction in baby steps...finally allowing production parts when the 1000s return... really takes some of the power away from the factories and could lower the cost and increase the fields.

Time will tell... RR

I hate to admit it, but i don't tend to cheer for the Repsols anymore. I really like those Ducati's, and unless otherwise noted, I think Rossi has more natural ability in his pinkey than most riders have in their whole body.

I hope we can develop a great racing thread this year. Seems responses start strong then die out after a couple races. I would love a season long race thread, with much banter. MotoGP, and WSBK. Smack talking etc. The forum seems to be getting farther and farther away from being a motorcycle forum, where racing and wrenching is huge, and chit chat and BS pertaining to nothing, is the norm.:focus::twocents:

I would love to be able to pop down to Qatar to see the race this year, but with the immigration crackdown there, and how long it takes to get back in country, I don't think it would be feasible for me.

Wish it was though...I think Qatar would be a great place to go, since the crowds don't ever seem heavy there, so a paddock pass would be the bees knees. :)

I don't think there will be changes in the battle fight from 2009 to 2010. It will be Rossi / Pedrosa / Stoner / Lorenzo 4 way battle and as usual all the remaing bikers will be there just to complete grid.

AMEN Brudda'!! Well said....

As for WSBK, who'd a thunk the GSX-R would have made this much of a leap forward??

I think the fact that Tools-land can't do a freaking thing and Crutchlow is starting to show he can ride that is a testament to what Spies can do with just his raw talent. The first time on that bike he was almost a second faster than anyone. Now look at him. Finished testing in 3rd on a satellite bike. Wow, that kid is good.

Nicky is looking like his old self, finally. I hope GP goes back to the 1K bikes. They suit Nicky and Ben much better. I'll be rooting for my Yankee bretherin all the way but can't help to keep the Repsol boys in the front as well.

I'm already curious as to see where everyone thinks the "Big 4" will end up next year considering all of their contracts expire at the end of this season.

Early predictions anyone??

My ultimate dream would be for Rossi and Lorenzo to both want to stay at Yamaha, thus leaving Spies without a factory ride. After this season he will want a factory ride and any manufacturer would gladly open up a seat for him.

Like at Repsol Honda!! :D

#11 = #1 in 11 The year of Spies.....

BAN HIM!!!

OUCH! I was just cruising through this thread and saw an advertisement for banning me. Sweet Jesus! I have RE-watched the 2009 season for the fourth time, and think that if it is not Rossi winning the races, it is going to be someone on those Ducati's. Though I just saw (and thought it was odd that I hadn't seen it before) that Pedrosa set the all time speed record on a MotoGP bike on a Repsol, during a practice session, at 217 mph. That's f***ing fast.

Either Stoner or Rossi to win first two.

For us in western US, SPEED channel is showing AMA supercross, lites and big boys, then WSB, then MOTO GP......like 5 hours of bikes.

iT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THEN THAT.....can't wait. :banana:applause::drool:

Damn. I guessed I'm gonna get flamed too because I don't cheer for the Repsols much anymore either (However, if Davisioso wins a race I won't be mad :)). It was Hayden and Rossi that got me into Repsols, not Pedrosa.

I really think Spies is going to shake up the usual four on four contest in the front. At least a little. Also, if Nicky can stay healthy this year, I expect to see him be a factor too. He actually looks like he can handle the Ducati besides Stoner.

As far as WSBK, I hope Biaggi takes it this year. For AMA Superbike, I haven't pegged one individual down, though my favorites are Zemke, Hayden, Hayes and Yates. Hopkins is in there too, but I don't think he'll be in contention this year. In Supersport I am rooting for Cardenas or Herron.

Let's get this season going already. I'm anxious!

I think it will be Rossi as always and Lorenzo testing his airbag suit in the last laps. I reckon Dovi stands a better chance this year than Pedrosa so hope he manages some good top 3 finishig places this season.

It would be great if some complete nobody won a few races, that way it would be less like a Tiger Woods golf game, where you know 90% of the time what will happen. And I do like it when someone with a personality wins, like a Rossi or a Baylisss, instead of some crotchety old woman, like Biaggi.

i tend to agree with you to a point.

i like the 600cc in moto2.....there are so many competitors in that class.....and even some that could not get into that class due to the big volume of teams available........this is going to be interesting.

as for MOTOGP........this year is going to be a battle with....

Vale, Stoner, Lorenzo.....possible Dani and Ben Spies........i really think that Ben will get in the battle with the three top riders and teams.

NEXT YEAR......riders will be moving from left to right to diferent teams.....these next two years will be the years to watch the races....Starting with this season.

practice this weekend......Stoner top...Second Vale.... lorenso and Randy De Punie???......that's new.

I am a stone's throw away from Qatar. I was going to take the weekend off so I could go to the race there this year, because I figured it would be a great place to actually chill out, since I highly doubt that there would be a mass amount of people there.

But, too much of a pain in the butt to get in and out of Qatar on short(ish) notice, so I decided against it.

Kind of kicking myself now though. I think I would have had some crazy access to the racers that you can't get at any other race during the season.

Edit: To talk about the racers:

It looks like the Edwards/Spies connection is going to be good for Yamaha this year. Spies might have a better shot at doing something, especially considering how his times have been looking when comparing them to the top 4, and it's right there.

As far as Nicky, I think if he can keep a ride until 2012, he'll do better on the bigger bikes. I just don't think he has ever really "clicked" on the 800. I also think the larger bikes will even out the racing more, as the tiny jockies won't be able to whip around the larger bikes.

Right now, the 800cc bikes really play into the smaller 250cc guys coming up more than the larger dudes. Valentino doesn't count. He's the GOAT. :)
