Robert,

Last year they blocked off that section of Cannery Row and wouldnt allow any traffic.

Will there be a designated area where we can tell the Police Officers that we have been allowed access to El Torito.

I'm working on getting special acess for Repsol owners, which was on the down low last year... you had to know which entrance to come to in order to get in...this year I'm working with the organizers and will have an official answer before the event.

The easy answer is...Get There Early!!! The closer to 5PM you arrive, the better your chances of breezing in. I'll be getting there by 4PM to help organize and setup.

Cheers...RR

Tell me you wouldn't pay attention if 50 Repsols rode down the street... I think not...

That's too funny though...I've never been on a ride with another Repsol except on the track at Laguna last year, but there are plenty of them in Cali....probably at least 200.

This is for the benefit of Repsol the company, and for the benefit of the riders that carry the brand around the streets everyday...a fun event as many who attended last year will attest. One guy rode all the way from the deep South, and the bike looked like it, but he had a great time.

That's what it's all about... we have one confirmed rider from Idaho so far this year.

More news to come...RR

So have you thought about placing name tags on each REPSOL? Gonna be a bitch when everyone stops to fuel up or eat and no one remembers which REPSOL is theirs.

robert,

I don't want to set any hard and fast rules about Saturday departure to Cannery Row, but I'll leave a bit early...by 3-3:30 to go down and help with setup. Remember, the Repsol parking is going to be available at 5, and we will be allowed past the barricades until 9PM, but I would like to see bikes arriving by 7PM at the latest...start some fun & festivities, culminating in the Grand Drawing by 8:30ish...and the event is officially over by 9...then I plan to grab a late dinner at El Torito...

My other goal is to hand out a flyer with meeting place and time for Sunday to see how large a convoy we can build...which is when I'm desiring a grand entrance with as many Repsols as possible...I would say 9-10AM for track arrival...just make sure we're there before the morning GP practice.

A final point before I send a PM for final confirmation next week on the 11th or 12th, for you that were fortunate enough to be among the 10 selected for the Repsol Hospitality, requesting addresses where to send tickets, and to send directions/map to the track and the Repsol tent.

I'm looking forward to meeting many of you for the first time.

Cheers...RR

i wanted to ask.......im just taking my jacket to ride with to the event. ((not including all the neccesities to stay over there)).

is any body taking any full leathers.?? i dont think we will have a chance to get on the track.....perhaps im asking for to much. but i just wanted to know....you never know.

Lot's of folks will have cameras, but I'll leave mine at home and just hope people share their best shots of the action with me, so I can save them on my PC for austerity...and to have evidence of misbehavior that I can use for blackmail...

If you don't already have parade lap access for the weekend, you likely won't get it while you're there. The only riding I plan to do is to and from the track with a backpack with everything I need for the day...no plan for full leathers...just the jacket.

Less than 2 weeks to go...see you there, and be on the lookout for more info this coming week.

Ive been checking the weather down in the area via my family....they said it has been cool.
But Laguna sits in a little valley...you could call it a Laguna bowl.

Last year it was hot as hell in that bowl....but once you got out of there, it was much cooler.
The evening will be cold...so dress in layers, tshirt/sweatshirt/jacket.

I wore full leathers on the initial ride down...and then back home.

But since its possible that I will be riding down in style in the Jquick party vehicle...I will probably bring the above mentioned layered gear, jeans and tennis shoes for the Laguna event.
Ill have a pair of shorts and a few tshirts in my backpack for wearing at the races.
