That's the 400 horse Gran Sport, right?
Don't get me started on Vette's...used to own a ZR1 after being a test driver on the program for chevy in '89. Imagine 175 in the high banks...too much fun! I should post my video. I only got mine to the mid 160s on the street...just no place to run it all the way up without risking a huge ticket..or worse.
I've been just as fast on the RR...same secret location...but it got there a lot quicker.
Are you pickin' up the SS when it arrives? I'm #1 on the list at my dealer...650HP...200 plus mph...ultimate track toy! Ferrari killer, Lambo killer, Ford GT killer...and the price is amazing for the performance.

Sweet rides dude...RR

My Vette is an 84 Crossfire car w/Z51 pkg. It was in the Feb issue of Grassroots Motorsports and made this months issue of Vette Magazine! WOOHOO:cool: The 84 models were actually the best handling though the roughest riding of all the C4's, .95 on the skidpad right off the showroom floor 24 years ago. 1.01 w/shaved tires on an otherwise stock vehicle! I do auto-x and track days and it'll more than hold it's own in the corners!

I should have clicked on the thumbnail and I would have seen it was an older model, but I saw the left front fender stripe and the Dymags and assumed you had the Gran Sport...
Nice to get the media attention, especially on an older model...it's obviously real special. '84 was the first year of the C4 wasn't it....and had the funky 4+2 tranny on the manual model. I was at Laguna in '83 when they were testing it against a Jaguar V12 and two other cars I've long since forgotten...I think a BMW 5 series and something else.
I used to autocross as well, and I raced in the '89 Corvette Challenge...damn that was an awesome time. That's how I got involved in the ZR-1 test program in early '89. Check out the ZR-1 Autoweek issue from I think April of that year, and you'll read all about my Talladega experience and see my mug.
Do you ever get out this way with your ride...I'd love to check it out.
Cheers...RR

I've really enjoyed the car. I always like the asymetric GS stripe, but didn't want to clone it, hence the wide single slash and wheels to match. 315/35 17's rear and 275/40 17's front! Had my Crossfire in the 13's, but should be in the low low 13's or high 12's at the 1/4 mile now. Lotsa midrange for shooting outta the corners! The early C4 was always my favorite body style, now I've got a one of a kind!:D
