so here's the story-

someone opened their door into me distroying the right side. The right side has been replaced (fairings and all) but the shop couldn't get the sticker along the bottom of the fairing (brembo, Rk chains, etc..) because honda no longer makes them

my question is where can I get them?

has anyone ordered from someone and the stickers were PERFECT match to the originals? My left side is still oem so i cant have it where the right looks different from the left.

Thanks again

You can find kits on Ebay. There is a member of this forum selling decals, but there has been quite a bit of drama related to said member.

Hey I got the same question can any one get me another set of Decals for an 07, didn't see much on e-bay as far as decal kits go. I just got my bike back after the wreck and it looks really bare. I was thinking I would be able to go to the dealer and just order a set with my vin# but apparently not.

Just got off the phone with my parts guy. He had got me a full replacement set of stickers F.O.C due to the 2 Michelin stickers being missing.
I asked him if he could get more sets, his reply was "Yes" he just needs a VIN #.
The sets run @ approx $130, but are the genuine article.

PM me if you need his name and number.

If you can get genuine decals then do it. The copies are OK, but are not quite as good as the originals. You are better off spending the extra money for the real deal.

Shop around for your OEM kit. I paid around $110 for mine, and I had to pay tax, as well as shipping.

The only way I would go with aftermarket is if I found a sign guy that would take the time to scan in, clean-up the scan, and produce from the originals, with a good opaque vinyl.

Most places will just take a font that LOOKS close to what you give them, modify it and tell you it's good-to-go.

I have a parts catalog......I think it's 83720-MEL-A51, but I'm not 100% without looking it up. I got mine from ron ayers I think it was around $95, plus shipping, $8.00 I think, but I had to pay tax also....cause they're in NC.

You'll have to provide your VIN #, cause it's a controlled part from HONDA. You can't get them for the '05 any longer.

+1 I bought an extra set of the commemorative decals (I won't say from who) and they're good, but definitely not as good as the original. Will anyone ever notice, probably not. Will I, yes, but I'm a perfectionist. I just wanted to save the original commemorative decals... don't ask me why.

Getting decal kits have been such a pain... Wish we could find some guy who makes decent ones for a good price. I too want to buy an extra set for my 05. I could scan all the decals if anyone has an original set for 05 and 07 and save them on the forum hardrive. Then all we need to do is find a guy who makes good quality decals for a decent price.

I would think you'd need a pretty snazzy scanner?? One of those "you're only as strong as the weakest link" kind of things... if you've got a badass scanner, it could definitely be worth trying to find a set of decals from a member that hasn't installed them yet.

I would imagine there would be quite a few people on here interested in having an extra set, or those that bought their bikes used and didn't get decals. There are even a few that never got their decals from the dealer...

Worth investigating.

I have a new decent scanner 'Canon Pixma MP530'. Will try scanning some decals and see if it works. Most of them are white in color so should not be a big problem. The colored ones may need to be matched exatcly in print with the original ones. If my scanner does not do the job will find out from local graphics shops if they can do it.

I know what a pain it was to find an 05 set.

I have my set in a folder...original owner never installed them.

I wouldnt mind having a set made for others to purchase...where would I go to get these made?

What would I be looking for as far as materials used?

If I can find a place where "almost perfect" copies can be made...I will post the cost of each set.

Decals are usually made of Vinyl. If you can find a guy who makes signs and works on graphics locally, that would be the best. As far as the material of vinyl goes I am not sure. Colored ones should not fade but it will be a test of time I guess.
If you have an original set then the store should be able to scan them and have the sizes and colors match perfectly.

Hey if anyones bought an OEM decal kit and can spare a LHS Blue jeans Gas decal(the one near the windscreen with an orange edge) I'd be over the moon. I was cutting a bit out for around the screw and thought i had it pretty good , but it wasn't i took it off and stuck it back on the backing paper to trim it a bit more . When i went to peel it off again i realized i had stuck it on the wrong side of the backing paper :censored::stupid: Well its on the bike but looks far from perfect !

A sign shop should be able to do it no problem. The initial cost, set-up, will be a factor, but once they have a file created it should stabilize the price. You must insist that you want exact replicas though, there are a lot of letter styles that look similar but are not the same, usually the letters R,S,C,G are dead giveaways that they used a different style of letter

Maybe....take a poll on how many here would want a set, I know I will, and go to a sign shop and propose that you want a price on, say 10 sets, of EXACT replicas made with 3M white vinyl, not a printed media.

The white vinyl will be more opaque than if they just print white on a clear background, and 3M was the product with the best warrantee, when I worked in the industry.

That sounds like a plan to have an opinion pole. May be BK could help us with that. I am willing to chip in for the initial cost and order a set for a spare.
