View Full Version : True dual Moto GP style exhaust?

I saw a pic of an aftermarket version. I think it was made by Arrow? I don't necessarily like the 2nd pipe sticking out by the swingarm on the right side but I can't find any other company making a 4-into-2 full exaust. Even the OEM is 4-into-1 but with dual tips for the illusion of a true dual.

If you have links, pics, own, heard, or riden with one then please reply.

Someone on this site has the moto-gp style exhaust on their bike with the additional pipe down by the swing arm...

If they don't reply here - try doing a search in the gallery. I know I've seen pics of it on here...

There's a link to a pic above. I don't know if Arrow is the only company that makes the GP style and I can't find a true 4-to-2 OEM stle exhaust. The strange thing is the GP exhaust doesn't say you have to tune after install but there 4-to-1 does.

I think one of the better looking GP exhausts is Moriwaki:

Yeah the other one looks closer to the Kentuck Kid's kit but the one you posted looks alot cleaner for the street. Again, it doesn't mention tuning the compter for this exhaust. :confused2: Are the GP style fake replica's? Maybe they are 4-to-1 then split to 2 mufflers?

Has anyone seen any of these in person to verify or better yet heard if they are insanely loud?

you have to use a POWER COMMANDER for the ARROW GP or MORIWAKI GP exhaust since they are FULL SYSTEMS and not SLIP-ONS!!!!

i went with the MORIWAKI slip-on since i didnt want to use the passenger foot peg as a bracket.

^ ok thanks. Have you seen either of them in person? Are they a true dual system? I prefer the dual Ducati style but the GP style is growing on me. :D

Why revert back to old school style exhaust?

We finally get a nice clean back end of the bike with undertail exhaust and then stick a second pipe back down there.

I personally love the clean lines of the bike without the canister beside the swing arm... but it's a free country. ;)

i've put hot bodie kit on my repsol as i have on my previous moto (fireblade 2004 mfd)... i've read in instruction that i have to put powercommanderIII as well, so i just ordered it...
my mechanic told me that it's not a problem even if i'll don't install powercommander at all, but i desided to do it.
so now i have that hot bodie kit with very loud short pipe (already on my repsol) and have ordered powercommander - it'll comes in two weeks i think...

I heard Boyd's (Bdendad (http://www.repsolforum.com/forums/member.php?u=197)) Arrow setup on Cannery Row during the races. That system has got to be the loudest, best sounding exhaust yet. Sure, it's not for everyone, but damn the bike sound sweet!

Dang, saw some Duc's today and after humping the 1098 and releasing on her headlight I realized it's a 4-to-1 exhaust then dual mufflers. The R1 also has a similar exhaust. I thought the V-twin Ducati would have had true dual.

The older 998/996/916 Ducati have true dual exhaust.

The RC-51's are 2-1-2 as well.

The older Ducati 748's are true dual as well, right?. I didn't realize they started with two pipes. Just assumed it was four, like the regular 4 strokes. The v-twin would have more of an advantage with the dual exhaust but why do they get merged in to one? The backpressure adding torque is a myth, it does not. The only differences are the power band is lower (mid range) in the merged exhaust and the power band would be raised in the dual exhaust. The R1 is 4-1-2. I like the twin cans out the tail but I don't see any advantage if it merges into one pipe before it splits out again. :confused2:

I don't see any advantage if it merges into one pipe before it splits out again.

Probably to save space and money. A slightly larger single pipe can support as much air movement as two smaller pipes. Resulting in less space required, less pipe, etc.

Think about the average car. Most cars on the road today have single exhaust. Even a high performance car (Vette, Mustang, even the mighty V-10 Viper) only have two pipes exhausting all the cylinders to the rear. Using your logic, they should have at least 4 pipes going to the back before they can be efficient.

+1

I saw the arrow pipe full system in cannary row during the gathering of all repsols during the great motogp weekend. i did not hear the system.....the pipes looked okay.....but they needed some cleaning or something.... i saw the same kind of pipes on a magazine and they looked very clean....i was somewhat disapointed to see the pipes on a bike, well, not well taken care of.....unless that the way they come. but it there were on my bike, man....i would have them well polished and shining.

i like italina bikes.....DUCATI. i would not spend over $20,000 for one unless it was the DESMODICCI. my favor color Red. im not sure why are the ducatis under power here in the US...perhaps some restrictions. but in Europe...they kick butts with other jap. bikes.

I love the performance and engineering behind the bikes, just don't think they're all that good looking.

I'd give my left nut for a Repsol with the same parts list as that bike.
