Hi guys, just wanted to say thanks for having me in the forum. Im looking to join the repsol family but I'm stuck deciding between buying an 09 with 8k miles or an 07 for 7k. Any advise would be greatly appreciate it!

Buy the 07. You won't regret it. Plus it's a keepsake now.
When in doubt, power out!
09!
Everything current is based on this platform change from 2008.

Oh man this is a hard decision. Whats new with the 09?
The 09 will be a good bike as long as it's had the motor checked. Notoriously well know for blowing the motor. Crankshaft to be exact. Ask @repsoldave
When in doubt, power out!
Everything! Clean sheet design. Lighter, quicker and smaller.
Click Forum button, Repsol model information and search Web reviews of each year model.
Watch the dry weight vs Curb Weight.
They both have top of the line, adjustable suspension. Get it adjusted for you and enjoy the ride.
My first Repsol was an 09, so I'm biased but, I'm sure the 07 is no slouch either. Choose your style bodywork.
You can run right down to the dealership and sit on a 2016 to feel what an 09 is like for you. They've changed riding position very little since 2008.

Dave ran it lean, racing without a fuel controller and burnt a piston,etc.,etc.,etc. Ignore this non-sense or get in the middle of it for fun.
To say something good about a 07, we have a retired police officer and a pacific islander that have all the modifications on their bike's, including the current unobtanium parts.
Drool worthy, if you have a hydraulic clutch model.

I think I'm going to jump on the 07, the looks alone did it for me. No offense to the 09.
None taken. Don't forget to wave as the 09 flies by.

Ok slackers!!!! First of all........ Hi Kelvin, Welcome from New York City!
Now on to the question at hand. Yes, the '09 is faster, lighter and better handling than the '07. As a matter of fact, with the exception of the current 2017 CBR 1000RR, and since we have not seen a Repsol for 2017, The '09 is the lightest, fastest, best handling of the Repsols! But then again a lot also depends on the rider. There are no problems with the '09 motor. It's as solid as any Honda ever has been. As Paul mentioned, I was running mine too lean, it does more than a fair amount of track duty, (along with street riding..) And I did fry a piston and did some crackshaft damage. (it was a very expensive lesson for me!!!) I've had absolutely no issues with the new motor! (and I am of course running a power commander engine mapping and fuel management system.) I'm also harder on bikes than anyone else I know. Except maybe Graham........ (close to 45,000 miles on my '09!)
I'm in NYC, so I'm close enough that we can talk in person if you want to. (PM me) All that being said. Go with the one you like best because you're the one who's gotta ride it! Which ever Reppie you get, you will not be disappointed!!!!! And despite the chatter from our California year round riding brethren and Island Jack the Repsol Quack, our lone Pacific Island member who only wears down one side of his tires because all he can do is constantly ride in a circle...... It's us east coast Reppies, The Repsol Rat Pack, who are the real badasses!! (That should sufficiently wind them up......)
Either way I'll look forward to riding with you someday. (as long as you're not a squid.....)
Oh man, back from the AARP meeting I see. The thing about old east coast dogs is the constant chatter about how things are better there and so on. Riding 2 weeks out of the year sucks I know...get over it! Where's my sun screen?
