    Exclamation Current State of Affairs...

Looks like I'm heading towards a huge server upgrade, and will need to shut the site down for a few days, or remove it forever.

My question today is... Do we go forward, or have we over stayed our usefulness? I guess what I'm looking for is feedback from our members, old and new... is Repsol Forum still a place for Repsol Riders to get together to share our ideas and love for everything Repsol, or are we just hanging on to the remnants of what we once were?

I know the Repsol community is small but I would hate to see it go.

I've been using the internet since 1995 and one of the things I really enjoyed were the automotive forums. I know many of them have ceased to exist after the advent of social media, but from my point of view social media "pages" or "groups" fail to serve as sources of reference. For example, it is impossible to search for information on Facebook and Instagram. All you see is the same questions popping up time and time again making it feel like a never ending groundhog day. Boy do I wish I had printed or saved offline versions of so many threads with golden nuggets of information that users today seem to have forgotten about.

What options are available to keep the site up and running?

Option one; we shut down the site for a few days while its moved to a new server.

Option two; we shut down the site forever as it's not being used much anymore.

Cost is not a factor, just hitting a major server move and trying to decide if we make the move, or shut it down.

If cost isn't a factor, then my vote is to move it to the new server and keep it going.

Cool Re: Current State of Affairs...

I was worried that this might happen as the place is not very active. I'm willing to kick in some $$$ if needed but it sounds like its not. I was in Grand Canyon, Sedona and Bryce all last week so I'm late to check in but I'm here at least once a day unless traveling. I vote to keep it up as the friends I have made here are forever..oddly I see a lot of the old crew on my Facebook but not here. I'm selling my Bike but that doesn't mean I would stop checking in daily.

BK I suggest you send out a Mass email to our most notorious members and rally the troops to get behind this great place, We can still be a family.

I say keep it! Lots of info on here that I still use to this day. And there’s always the chance of more activity in the future. Great way to reach out to folks as well. Met some great ppl from here that I’m still friends with a decade later. Don’t!!! Nooo!!!
    When in doubt, power out!
