    Wink Semi-newbie 2015 from Alaska

Recently purchase my new (to me) 2015 1000RR SP with 4100 miles. It’s in mint condition. This is my 3rd Honda. 2004 600 RR and 2014 600RR now moving up to the leader class 😂. My only question is I keep hearing from multiple other Repsol owners that our US spec bikes are “limited”. Meaning they only made 500-1000 models for 2015 and each can be identified by the last 4 of the Vin. Mine sis 0052 meaning 52/500? Thanks in advance.

Welcome, from Tucson AZ! To my understanding there's 1,500 made of each Repsol edition.

Hi Nigel, Welcome from New York City!!!
To answer a couple of your questions, Yes the Repsol Edition CBR 1000RR's are classified as Limited Edition bikes. Starting in 2005, they were only produced by the factory on the odd number year, ('05, '07, '09, '11, '13, '15, ) Until 2016, when the CBR 1000RR SP was available in Repsol Colors. (There has not been an official factory Repsol since the 2016 SP) As to how many were built in each of the production years? Nobody really knows. Honda has never officially released production numbers for the bikes and has always fed us all randomly vague answers when pressed on the issue. The 2009 bikes were the last of the serialized Repsols. Of course having the vin #'s serialized gave us some small way of attempting to find out how many Repsols were built in a given year, but it didn't really work for obvious reasons. But it did allows us all to add another petty layer in our never ending squabble among ourselves as to which Repsol is best. (I would caution you against opening that pandora's box. It will go on for months.....) Anyway, Honda abandoned serialization of the Repsols with the 2011 bikes.

Thanks for the welcome guys. A bit late on the reply as I was busy being “essential personnel”. A few updates on the bike
    -Austin Racing exhaust
-Dano performance tune, velocity stacks, and QS
    -K&N filter
    -Block off plates
    -Track fairings
    -Huge ego boost
